Who remembers this incredible film from the 1980's?

Starred Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Jason Patric, Jami Gertz and Keifer Sutherland.

One of my all-time favorites.

*nods* One of the greatest queer films of all time. :=D:

It even lets me forgive Schumacher for putting nipples on the batsuit

I have to say ..I hate vampire movies.... loathe them even.... yet invariably when one comes out I drag myself to the theatre....

That being said.... IMHO... there are only 2 vampire movies worth their weight in the genre....

The Lost Boys is one of them....

I won't get into why I hate them so much...don't even get me started on pieces of crap like Interview, Underworld, and any of the Dracula movies...... needless to say I hate them all.... This is not meant to hate on anyone who does like them I just find them all seriously flawed....

FYI the other one like is Near Dark.

Is that because of the mullets, ringlets, Keifer Sutherland, and obvious homoerotic subtext?

Cos that's sure as hell why I like it...|

^Where is this homoerotic subtext you speak of. Pray, Tell us so that we may all rent said film and peruse it's hidden meanings....

Well, for starters... Joel Schumacher made it.

Then there's Keifer's chronic eyefucking of people who are NOT women

The all-male environment: there's only one woman except for the mum in the WHOLE FILM.

...women must not taste as good.

Also, the one woman that's remotely sexualised is suddenly out of the picture when Michael is being turned.

The sexy Rob Lowe poster on Sammy's wall

A long bathtub scene with a naked underage boy

Sammy never has his mouth closed. It's always hanging WIIIIIIIDE open. Especially while Michael is begging to be let in. Which brings in incest as well... HURRAH

They also spend a lot of time cuddling

The one male authority figure abandons the one female authority figure to reveal his vampedness... Hey, sometimes people can't admit it til they're older.

The theme song: "unchain me sister... love is with your brother..."

Hmmmm...

So, in closing. Vampire = Gay. Which is why no-one understands them and wants to kill them, and why they have the best hair.

It's really a very insightful film.*|*

On the upside, Michael finally gets to impale David... so at least romance isn't dead.

"The last fire will rise
Behind those eyes
black house will walk
Blind boys don't lie!
Cry......Little sister!"

I love this movie. Its one of my favorite vampire movies along with Interview, Near Dark & my all time fav, Fright Night part 1 & 2.

Blueboy369.

After watching this movie, way back when, I became a fan of Jason Patric, and am still drooling over him to this day.
