I just went to see it last night. It was alright. I just can't get pass the part where the guy that plays Branden Frasier son looks almost the same age as his.
He's Hot looking but I wish they cast somebody younger to play his son. I heard some giggling when he calls Branden Dad.

Rachel didn't comeback to reprise her role here. From what I read, she had a problem with her character now has a 21 Y/O son and she didn't want to go to China to film the movie so they cast somebody else.

The movie debut behind Dark Knight and didn't really make as much as the other other two. Eventhough at the end of the movie leaves a possibly of another sequel. I don't think this movie will even make all its money back in the state. We'll have to see how it's doing second week. The movie cost 145 Mil to make.
it might do really good oversea.

I also went to see this movie as well but it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Luke Ford, the actor that played the son is younger than Brendan Fraser. Luke was born in 1981 & Brendan was born in 1968.
Brenden looks really good for his age. They shouldn't make his son older than 15
Luke is 27 but the character is 21 I believe.

No Rachel?!? omg she was awesome, what's the name of the girl that looks asian or asian-mixed, she's really beautiful, I saw like a sneak peak on sci-fi and USA last wednesday, it looked alright from the sneak peak but you guys saw the whole thing haha, I saw michelle yeoh fighting jet li's character I guess when it was showing what happened in the past and she was fighting him, I love michelle!!! haha on another note, the chinese actually made way better mummies than the egyptians, they discovered a chinese mummy, older than christ, that looked like she had juat died, her skin was still elastic and not leathery, and she still had red blood in her veins!!! it was crazy, clearly her extremely old ass was way better preserved than any egyptian mummy

I have no intrest in seeing this film at all. But I'm sure I will see it at some point. As I had the same attitude about the last two plus The Scorpion King and ended up seeing them for some reasons.

I thought it was a lot of fun. Yes, it's a bad movie, but so were the other two. That's kind of the point. It's not supposed to be good; it's supposed to be mindless entertainment and it didn't disappoint. Story-wise, it was much better than The Mummy Returns...and any movie that doesn't have The Rock in it is automatically better than one that does.

According to both Maria Bello and Luke Ford, a fourth movie is definitely going to happen. There's also a potential for two more following that which would likely feature Alex O'Connell as the lead character.

Honestly, I didn't find myself missing Rachel Weisz that much. I think they wrote the character to accomodate the change and it worked quite well. Maria Bello pulled it off and I would look forward to seeing her in future sequels.

As for the Emperor, I really liked him. He wasn't as menacing of a villain as Imhotep, but he was good.

Rachel Weisz made the best decision of her career leaving this series. The first one was actually not bad, and she helped a lot with that. The second one was only good because of her and Brendan Fraser together. This was just godawful. Fraser's character is no fun without Weisz's, the son is just stupid what with the whole aging-eleven-years thing (plus the actor's just not that great), and the movement to China is just rondo. I understand they've over-exhausted Imhotep, but this is some bullshit.

I like Maria Bello. She made some films (Coyote Ugly, Assault on Precint 13, The Dark) better than they had any right to be.

Plus John Hannah has one of the hottest asses I have seen in all my years.

Well, because of the coming Olympic Games, the release of this movie in China mainland was delayed. It will come in September. I, however, have no idea if a movie has anything to do with the Games.

Anyway, I've been looking forward to it, though I'm not a big fan of the first two movies.

I wanna see it because it has a lot of Chinese stuff in it, but it's an American movie, it's always fun to see how Americans comprehend Chinese culture, like in "Mu Lan". But in my opinion, according to the trailer here, if this movie is about Terra Cotta Warriors, then those dead copses in it shouldn't be called "mummies" anymore.

Unlike in the US, it has beaten The Dark Knight, and become No.1.

P.S. Rachel quitted her role because she didn't want to come to China to film this movie. I know westerners hate China's communism, but is this China-phobia really necessary? Anyway, Rachel is by far the most successful actress from the original cast, she did have a good reason to quit this vase role in a pure commercial movie.

The movie has to make certain amount of money to warrant a sequel. Words are just words. Stars has no power of how the movie got made. It's the studio decision. It all comes down to money. There's usually a 50% drop in ticket sales on second week and the movie only made 40 something millions. It's not gonna be easy to reach a 100 Mil mark. the movie cost about 145 Mil to make.

Remember Bryan Singer "Superman Returns " the movie made enough money but not a huge Blockbuster Hit. Bryan keeps saying that he will make a sequel. I didn't really hear anything after that and it's been over two years I think.
I wish it got made, cause I like the first one.

VanHiscers: Weisz didn't want to go to China to film because she didn't want to be away from her son for five months of filming, not because she's "China-phobic". Also, her agent was uncomfortable with her playing the mother of a 21 year old.

I thought the movie was pretty good! I hated Maria Bello though, that horrendous English accent she was faking the whole time was ridiculous! It was awful! She was trying way too hard and almost sounded like she was concentrating the entire time. I also didn't like that they had such an older son. Overall it was pretty entertaining, and not quite as disappointing as some of this years other sequels.

What they shouldn't have done..... made the effects so big, make the story a good(is an estimate) 15 years after the 2nd, and didn't take no for an answer from Rachel.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but from what I've heard, the effects are far bigger then the 1st or 2nd's, many people don't like the year jump between movies, and pretty much everyone hated Maria in it. btw, Jet Li only spent 10 minutes onscreen... the rest was CGI and special effects.

Honestly for the first 10 minutes of not seeing Rachel Weisz was a bit uncomfortable, but right after that I didn't care for her much longer. Obviously, the new storyline has changed. Rachel could not possibly do better than Maria Bello. I noticed in the last two movies, Rachel's character was a boring person who talks a lot, with little to almost none phsyical activities involved, her character did help the movie though because she's the brain, the balancing scale, in between her clumsy husband and greedy brother. Maria Bello's character now has changed, not only does she takes more risks in doing more stunts, she is just as clumsy and adventurous as the rest of the cast. I am quite amazed at the physical stunts she was involve in this movie and I think she did them quite well. Between a character who only talks and theorizes the adventure and someone who is more involve into part of the action, I'd rather choose Maria's performance. Then again, not to take all the credits away from Rachel's performance in the last two movies, I did noticed a lack of excitement in her acting.

.

I had no idea the wife was not returning to reprise her role, though I did remember thinking it was odd I didn't spot her in the commercial...

also the Chinese General got quite alot of time/scenes... and the whole thing with his female 2nd-in-command was kinda.....weird....a relationship that was kinda sprung on us right there then....ended...

and I expected Russell Wong's mummy to have a bigger role i.e. fighting Jet Li...

oh and the Yeti were AWESOME
minus the part where they run away like lil biatch azz pusssiesss

.

Luke Ford, the Australian actor that plays the son is worth watching the otherwise kind of boring movie. Luke is so hot, he just has to smile. Actually he smiles better than he acts, too. LOL

Save your money, guys , and wait for it to come to cable.

I agree, it was extraordinarily difficult to believe that Brendan Frasier's character was that man's father. I was happy to see Michelle Yeoh, though. :)
