The Neverending Story

I have wonderful memories of the first film. (never read the book).

The second movie wasn't half as good (although the silver city was still very cool).
If just seen it this week (but I'd seen the "making of" years ago when it was first released).

I'm told there is a third movie, but I can't even find that on youtube.

There was also an animated series, but I never got into that.

How did you experience this movie?

I loved that movie. I can't remember seeing the second movie. I need to look it up on NetFlix. Thanks.

Way back when, I was talking to this guy, and he said he had a copy of the book. Seems like he was saying, that his copy had red, or green letters, for the different speaking parts, I mean, besides the regular type. I need to check that out on Wikipedia.

LOVED the first one. I've been thinking about watching it again lately. You're right...the second one sucked. I read about all that recently. The first movie differed from the book on some pretty key points and the writers weren't happy with the directors about that so their creative differences became a major issue which prevented them from working together on the second one. The second one was made without the writers and it showed. I never heard of a third one or a series.

I think part of the reason I liked the first one was the major crush I had on Atreyu!

I love the first one, however by the time they made The Neverending Story 3 staring Jack Black, I was so over it!

I liked the first one. It used to come on TV in my area all the time when I was a kid. I'm not sure that I've ever seen the 2nd.

OMG original Ateryu is the hottest! I thought original Bastian was adorable too.

I had no idea how old the original movie was when I first watched it. All I knew was that I couldn't take my eyes off of Atreyu.

I really loved the first one. I watched it so much I really thought my parents were planning an intervention. To be honest I think it was a big influence on me starting to read books for pleasure at a young age.

I "liked" the second one...it wasn't complete trash

I never saw the third one, it went straight to video

I'm VERY worried about them remaking it. I swear if Falcor is cgi I'll just get up and leave.

From my recollection, I've only seen the first Neverending Story when I was about 4 or 5. All I can remember about the movie is that it scared the S.H.I.T out of me and gave me nightmares for a crazy long time. I haven't bothered to watch it since.

I bet you're thinking of the Gmork. Falkor is pretty scary too.
