The new iPad...

There are plenty of positive reviews of the Eee pad, and picking one or two negative ones isn't the way to make a selection. If I were in the market for tablets, it would be an Eee Pad because of its quality.

If those one or two negatives affect the system stability and UX of the entire tablet, then those are fairly important things to consider.

I don't think it's an unstable device at all as I have handled one. The device itself has very high ratings from other sources. I guess you must counter everything I say. What else is new?

I've used one too. It was neither as smooth nor as polished as the iPad. That matters.

Its still very good, mind you, but people are going to compare it to the iPad.

With the Eee Pad, I don't think I would use the keyboard dock, which is a big part of it's overall design and purpose. It kind of converts the tablet into a laptop/netbook, which I would have no purpose for. I already have a laptop that works quite wonderfully.

If I had an Eee Pad, I would probably use only the tablet part, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting an Eee Pad doesn't it? I guess what I am saying is that I prefer the devices stay separate. If I want to use a tablet, I'll use a tablet. And if I had a need that would need the keyboard dock added, I would rather just pull out my laptop to get things done. It will probably be ergonomically superior too.

Also, just a quick question...Why hasn't ASUS upgraded the Operating System to Ice Cream Sandwich? It's been out for awhile now, and I swear that the Galaxy Nexus is the only device that has it.

As for the iPad 3, I think it's a great evolutionary step that will help differentiate it and set it above the competition (for now). The retina display should be a great selling point (at least until competitors match it). In fact, it already is. Apple said that demand for the "new iPad" is off the charts.

I won't be getting one though. I still maintain the notion that I have no need for a tablet, and it wouldn't be worth it. My laptop goes everywhere with me anyway. I am saving my money for a MacBook Pro that has a retina display. I think it's pathetic that the new iPad has more pixels than both my 15" MacBook Pro and 21.5" iMac.

^^ God forbid Toshiba make something that is actually nice to look at.

I am Android all the way but this Ipad seems damn near perfect.

I am holding out till early summer for an Android tablet to slay me.

I don't see it happening

Wait for tablets that use Qualcomm's S4 or S4 pro. That chip is BEASTLY and easily outpaces the Tegra 3 despite only being a dual core.

There's not anything amazing on the horizon right now for Android tablets, unfortunately, but Samsung has got to have something up its sleeve to debut sometime soon. There were rumors of an HD-screened Tab in the works, but who knows when it will debut.

I was thinking Samsung as well.

The first thought was actually Motorola but I have lost faith in them tablet wise. Only other brand I would get behind is Sony but I doubt they are doing anything.

The resolution on this thing is amazing! Small text is viewable completely zoomed out. This is the future of computing

^^ Glad you are enjoying it, was thinking of getting one myself but saw they had that nasty grey/metal backing.

Not here for that. Will wait 6 months for the next one

six months might be a little quick. Maybe a refresh in a year, not sure what they'd improve on so quickly. Maybe quad core and multitasking but battery technology needs to improve considerably before that happens.

If you just bought an iPad, the first thing you need to do is go to iReadAdult.com and download the first issue of ADULT Magazine!

It's an iPad-only digital, hard-core, interactive magazine. And it is FREE!

Every iPad release to date has been 12 months apart. Expect the 4th gen iPad to be announced in March 2013.

I got mine via FedEx today. The screen is quite gorgeous, and the thing is snappier than ever. Too bad after reading about the increased size of apps that make use of the new screen I decided I wanted 32GB instead. :P

I'm hoping my local store will still have some 32GB versions left to exchange it for. If not, I'll just buy a 32 GB one, return the one I have, and wait it out.

I too got mine in on Friday. Wow, the screen is just amazing. I opted for the 32GB version. I have used Android tablets in the store and they seem to have a bit of lag. There is no lag or any hangup with this iPad. I am thoroughly impressed and convinced it is a good alternative to my Macbook Air, which I take to college. When the jailbreak is released for this, hopefully there will be a Flash player tweak and it will be perfect.

I was able to stroll right into my local Apple store at 6 pm yesterday and get a 32GB version for my exchange. It looked like they had quite a few left, though I couldn't see if it was just wifi versions. (it seemed like it)

The iPad 2 is dropping to 300$ here on sale at Bestbuy soon enough. I can live without a retina display, honestly.

Have you gone in and seen what text looks like on it? I can't stand to read anything off my laptop anymore
