Doctor Who: male or female? Well the next Doctor will be Jodie Whittaker - congratulations.

Personally I don't care!

My biggest concern is that "Doctor Who" is disappointing me. I no longer enjoy watching the show because I no longer find it interesting. Is it me or has the art of storytelling died? No one seems to know the elements of a good narrative anymore.

If you're a true DW fan, remember when the show used to mix things up? The Doctor's companions could be from the past or the future. They could be from Earth or another planet, as well as male or female.

I miss the good old days. I miss Nyssa and Adric. You guys remember Teagan? I also miss the free movement through time and all the different adversaries encountered along the way. The Doctor shouldn't be faced with the Daleks all the time, nor the Cybermen.

Special effects were not special back in the day - but it didn't matter when you had good stories and favorite actors onboard.

Maybe old guys like me should just shut up and let you younger guys say what shape Doctor Who takes as the storyline moves forward. While I feel the quality of the writing needs an upgrade maybe you guys are satisfied by the direction the latest series has taken.

I wish Jodie Whittaker all the best as the Next Doctor - but the show needs to address a growing staleness that has turned me off as a fan of the show.

Rose was okay, Donna was brilliant, Clara was a pain in the fucking neck, and this last one was just forgettable.

Bring back Russel T Davies

And Captain Jack.

If nothing else I want The Next Doctor Who to have some fun. I remember looking forward to old school Doctor Who because it had lighter moments. Let's put the "fun" back in "Doctor Who", guys.

Yeah I definitely want a fun doctor the whole family can enjoy.

I would also love to see ben Hardy as a companion

I agree. I would like to see Ben as a companion. Likewise, how about an alien companion? Or an elderly companion? Or a whole family of companions?

The Next Doctors needs the entire production staff to Wake Up!

With all the possibilities available, there's no reason for the show to grow so stale. This is the time to bring new thinking to the series remind new DW fans why the good Doctor became so popular in the first place.

Why leave all the Doctor's "fun" back in the 1970's?

Just give me some decent scripts. That's all I ask. I really don't have that much faith in Chris Chibnall as showrunner. His past Doctor Who episodes haven't been anything to write home about.

The Golden Rule in entertainment - start with a good story.

I wish I could sit in on a planning meeting to hear what the production people have to say about the selection of a storyline. Sometimes I feel that no one really cares anymore, "just throw something up on the telly". When the ideas start to go stale try bringing onboard writers who are not Doctor Who fans.
