Peter Capaldi has announced that he'll be leaving Doctor Who at the end of the year.

Any suggestions for a successor? A week ago I might have mentioned Sir John Hurt, but the field is wide open. Ben Whishaw would make a good gay Doctor.

From what I have seen of Peter Capaldi, I liked him but I hope it is someone younger again. Matt Smith and David Tenant were great and would like to see Doctors more inline like that again.

Some interesting choices there.

If they were going with female and did Donna at the very least the narrative would make sense for it.

I could see Tim Roth playing the role well, as well as Ben Wishaw, I liked him as Q and can see that personality being a Doctor role.
