The Original Batman (60's series)

OMG - I think I vaguely remember seeing some episodes...

I don't think the '60's series was the "original" tho'...I'm pretty sure there was one around earlier than that.

My favorite villian was Victor Buono(spelling?) as King Tut. Because of that show I did a little research on him and found that he wrote poetry and looked into some of his work. He was really a talented man.

It made me laugh.

"Bang!" "Crash!" "Splosh!" "Whack!" "Boom!"

If you've seen it, you probably know what I'm talking about.

I enjoyed it when I was a wee comic book lad. But as time has progressed and the source material became more somber in tone, it stands in stark contrast. It's still fun because of the "camp" factor, but I am soo glad that the comic book dropped all that as they went into the seventies.

Depends on how you define "original"...Although there were a number of Batman serials, they were for the Big Screen, it was the first TV series. Even the first Batman cartoons weren't until the next decade...

Weren't there three different Catwomen?

Yes. Julie Newmar was the first (and in my opinion, best), followed by Eartha Kitt. Lee Merriweather played Catwoman in the Adam West Batman movie, although I'm not really sure where that falls in the series timeline.

Ahhh...yes, now you mention it I'm sure you're correct on that.

Just that I remember (years ago - as a kid) going to the cinema to see a Batman "series" compilation - and it wasn't at all what I expected...but something from (I'm guessing) about 20 odd years prior...

I'm pretty sure it was made after the 1st season. Great thread, man thanks for the memories that show was always so cheesy and funny.
