Nicole Kidman in The Others I was just wacthing it, and it's pretty good suspense/horror movie, She plays the part to a tee.We need more movies like The Others .

Her performance was amazing here. I really liked this movie, 'twas really enjoyable.

I loved the dvd special edition...it comes with one or two great documentaries about that disease the kids in the movie had...they couldn't catch sunlight at all.

ugh...hated this movie...had to watch it like 3 times in this one class in college...cause the professor kept on starting it over or starting it like 15 minutes before where we stopped the last time...seriously wanted to break the dvd in half after the movie was over

This is my second favorite Nicole Kidman movie. (The first being 'To Die For.') Its probably one of the best ghost stories ever put to celluloid.

I hate this movie too. It took me 2 sittings to finish it and the ending was not worth it at all. However, if you liked it there was another movie released this year quite like it. The Orphanage.

It's the greatest ghost story ever, as long as it's the only ghost story you've ever seen. The "twist" is all it has, and that's really not worth dealing with one of the most boring movies ever. Every scene sets up the twist, and seems to be trying too hard. It's just so nuanced that it gets boring...Great for putting you to sleep when the building is creaking...

Can't say I'm a huge fan of The Others. The classic movie on which it is based (The Innocents) is much more ambiguous and murky in terms of What Is Really Going On, and doesn't rely on a twist that is painfully obvious almost from the get go (the children can't go out in sunlight? Oh, I wonder why that is!). You also might want to check out the novel on which The Innocents was based: Henry James's Turn of the Screw.

Nicole Kidman is absolutely wonderful in it, though without her I can't help but think that the movie would've simply floundered as just another ho hum, sixth sense style non-mystery with a TWIST! that actually murders much of its appeal.

I agree that what really makes the movie decent is Nicole Kidman's amazing acting. If she wasn't in it the movie would've probably sucked. Her powerful performance gave the movie a most of it's steam...without her, I feel the movie wouldn't have been to sustain itself.
