I was going to put this in the Cooking Questions thread, but I think we should have one just to discuss pizza. (Really, it's a spinoff from the Yum or Yuck? thread.)

So, to start, the perennial question: Hawaiian pizza: yum or yuck?

Thesis statement:
Pineapple on pizza is an abomination before every kitchen god in the pantheon.

Discuss.

The Italian woman who operated a pizza outlet near me refused to make any pizza she didn't consider authentic, and yelled at customers for asking for that.

But foreigners will put anything on a pizza - natives of the UK have been known to put a fried egg on it, and I've seen "dessert" pizza with merangue! Oy gevalt.

There are quite a few Italian-American pizza places here in Queens that serve a dessert pizza with Nutella. They sprinkle on powdered sugar as if it were grated Parmesan.

We are pizza lovers. Our town has many pizza places, some commercial and some privately owned. We have tried them all with mixed results. Nowadays we make our own, dough and all. While we mostly stick to pepperoni and black olives, we have tried many combinations, some have been great and some not so much. While the pineapple on pizza is not my favorite, I don't think is as terrible and scary as people claim it to be.

I used to think pineapple did not belong either. But a few weeks ago I was at a family gathering where pineapple on pizza (among others) was served, and I was surprised by how good it was. I'd eat it again.

My favorite pizza though is thin crust pepperoni, mushroom, and green pepper.

Love mixing sex with food, ergo, had lovers cum on pizza slices.

Pineapple on a pizza is ok. I’ll eat it if someone else bought it but won’t buy one myself.

I like a thin crust pepperoni with extra cheese. It needs to be completely dripping with artery clogging oil too. If you’re going to eat it you might as well make it worth it.

Not a fried egg, but a fresh egg that gets cooked along with the pizza. I've done it many times.

An egg is actually a Roman Pizza variation.

Pineapple on Pizza only belongs in the garbage can.

Since we make all of our own pizza....we can be absolutely sure that no pineapple is served.

But I don't hold it against anyone who enjoys this abomination from Hell :ROFLMAO:

I'm an outlier here. I HATE pepperoni. Greasy and foul-smelling.

I'll skip pineapple too.

Sausage, hamburger, mushrooms, green pepper, chicken, and onions are all fine with me. But truly good pizza does NOT need extra toppings. Just doughy tomato and cheese goodness.

My type of pizza would be mushrooms, cheese, sausage or pepperoni

Hawaiian pizza can be good, but is not something I would order for myself.

My go to pizza is a chicken and bacon pizza with garlic white sauce with no onions, but add olives and mushrooms. It also comes with mixed cheese.
