They know.

I know that they know. They know that I know that they know.

Hell, it's not like I'm actively trying to hide it.

But still, we're all playing the "I'm not gonna be the first to mention it" game.

Go, dysfunction.

"I know. You know I know. I know you know I know. We know that Henry knows, and Henry knows that we know. We're a very knowledgable family." - Lion in Winter

Is there a reason to say it? If don't, no reason to. If it comes up, say it like it's been said the last ten years.

It's just the big white elephant that no-one talks about.

Sometimes, when I'm in a slump, my mother says "I wish you'd talk to us"

My response is usually something along the lines of "I don't have anything to say"

Because I simply can't talk to them. I haven't even told them I'm going on holiday yet.

Winterknight:

If it was talked about, would it change anything?

But let's say you could.

Do you feel you want this talked about?
Or is it just something that you feel should be, because "that's what you're supposed to do"?

Jory's right. Write it out.

You don't have to be florid, or be an amazing writer. Just get your point(s) across.

"Mom & Dad -

As you know, I've got some problems expressing myself, so I'm writing you a note instead. Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be on holiday..."

Lex

>>>I strongly suspect that it would still lead to a Conversation.

Then don't bother. Leave them a note on your way out the door. "Gone on holiday - back in two weeks. WK PS - I'm gay."
