Every year, we have a red or black squirrel that resides in the separation between the front portion and back portion of our farmhouse.

At the office, we have had a Sqrbl named Squirt who lived with us over the winter and I think we have his grandchildren still with us although they don't appear when I am at my desk to be fed peanuts.

This year though, our house squirrel is Mr/Ms Thunderpaws and is making our one cat crazy with their antics.

Does anyone else have wildlife resident in your house?

I had some mice, 20 or so years ago. Got rid of them. Other than some occasional house centipedes and flies or mosquitos that find their way in, no wildlife. And there better not be.

I have a pair of quarrelsome squirrels in my back garden

There is a cellar spider named Joyce whom I've allowed to take up residence between my bathroom sink and toilet. She used to run and hide whenever I came in there, but now she doesn't, so we are communicating.

Does Maple count? She's got some leopard DNA in her cute little cells.

Squirrels outside, but only an occasional mouse inside. The squirrels are our friends. Mice, no.

I'm far from home but maybe next week I can get pix.

In previous years, I've had Pogo the opossum take up residence in my utility room a couple of times, for a couple of months or so. I've previously written about him here on Just Us Boys. Well, a couple of months ago, he showed up again. When I pulled out my lawn mower, there he was, looking at me, scared. He had built himself a nest under the lawn mower housing, and had placed a whole bunch of dead leaves around himself. I didn't bother him further, hoping that he would think that location was not a good place to make a home after all. Apparently he agreed, because the next time I went into the utility room, he was gone.

I have three squirrels that come to my window every day. The one I call Pete is very friendly, his girlfriend is Debby and I don’t have a name for the third one yet. I feed them peanuts. They will stay at the window until they get a peanut.

My one will come and sit at the patio door watching me til I get up and refill his peanut feeder

Well our noisy neighbour in between the floor/ceiling above the kitchen is busy in and out and all across the town right now with Mizzy following it back and forth below.

Next spring, the cedar shingle roof over the pantry and verandah gets redone and I am going to have it dome so that every doorway into the space and then into the house is locked shut, but for this winter...I predict that little mister thunderpaws will have a jolly time.
