No it's not the mouse from Ratatouille........

Pixar is building a robot for 2008.

Disney-owned toon studio's release next year, titled "WALL-E," is believed to be about a young robot looking for a home in outer space.

Andrew Stanton, who won an Oscar for directing "Finding Nemo" and co-directed "Toy Story 2," is helming.

Former Lucasfilm Digital prexy Jim Morris produces. Project is his first since he joined Pixar in early 2005.

Though rumors -- some accurate, some not -- about "WALL-E" have popped up online in the past few months, Mouse House confirmed details about the pic for the first time Thursday in an unusual way -- via CEO Robert Iger's letter to shareholders at the front of the 2006 annual report.

"WALL-E" will be released June 27, 2008. (!)

They have a pretty amazing track record. I love all their output so far.

BTW, Johnny 5 was never really a favorite, but I'll always remember it because a group of us then teenagers went to see "Short Circuit" and one of us brought her kid brother Bruno along. There's a scene where Johnny 5 is "dying", and little Bruno was sobbing uncontrollably. I'll never forget the movie for that. Every now and then I'll bump into Bruno all grown up and taller than any of us and I just have to smile to myself.

Eh? Robot looks pretty cute there. Hopefully, it's gunna be good.

The storyline kinda remind me of E.T. or a japanese film made 'bout sumething like that too.
