164 women and children died when the Titanic sank.

128 men survived.

So much for women and children first.

The 20 lifeboats on board could save 1178 souls. Only 703 were saved. 475 men, women, and children died due to sheer incompetence of the crew. The balance died due to malfeasance of the ship's designers, owners, operators, and naval authorities that allowed the insufficiency.

What about your story and its numbers?

I have no idea how many stuffed cabbages I've eaten.

18 & 16

I've had 18 vehicles since I began driving at 16. Only two were new. The longest any I drove is the F150 I have had now for a dozen years, but it's 29 years old, so I'm the 2nd owner, and I only drive it for chores or to keep it running.

Including a summer apartment I rented in college, I have lived in 16 houses or apartments as an adult. Sometimes it was only three months, and sometimes it was over a decade in a place. All were rented but three.

I'm not entirely sure I remember this right, but I think my father might have gotten in contact with a radio talk show to announce he'd only had two cars his whole life (as of 50-something). It might have been mentioned on air. I'm not 100% sure--this was 20-some years ago. And it reflected his personal accounting, which looked only at cars h bought for his exclusive use, which ruled out cars he bought when married and sometimes used.

If we are talking about whips, I have been driving the same one, which I bought new in 1993, so 31 years (365K miles). I have couple other inexpensive ones I tinker around with as a form of recreation, here and there over the years.

That's almost a miracle whip.

I'll see myself out.
