Well, After lurking here for several months, and reading everyone else's postings and blogs, I've decided to take the plunge and do some posting and blogging of my own. The great challenge (I suppose) is finding something worth writing about.
I guess I'll just write about my day. I woke up at 8:30 am with the sound of the TV weatherman telling me that it was going to be cooler today (65-67 degrees) but still unseasonably warm. Stumbled out of bed and ate some Trader Joes Hi-Fiber cereal with soy milk. Don't laugh, at my age I need all the nutritional help I can get.
Spent most of the day online trying to get my various credit cards and other bills set up for online payments. This should save alot of time and postage.
I also had a pleasant surprise with one of my credit card companies.
I had a problem with National City Visa about a year ago, and it took me awhile to get it straightened out (at least I thought I did) but then I noticed that I stopped getting monthly statements. I know what the problem is, but I thought I would have a difficult time finding someone at National City to understand what was going on.
Well, I signed up for National Citys online service, and paid my balance off in full, and then sent an email to their customer service asking them to review my account, and giving them a complete explanation of my problem. Lo and behold, not an hour later I got a response! Not only did I get a response but they actually understood what I wanted.
They even went into my account and credited me back some late penalties that I had paid. I complain when things don't go right, but I also like to give credit where credit is due. My hat is off to National City card services.
Also watched a gay movie from Netflix called 200 American. The other members on NEtflix who reviewed this movie gave it low marks, but I didn't think it was that bad. I found it to be a touching, sweet little movie, about an Australian boy who comes to the US, and has to hustle in order to make money. He meets a client who offers him a job with his company, and falls in love with one of his co-workers who would be upset (to say the least) if he found out about the hustling. There was certainly a soap opera feel to this movie, but in a good way. I enjoyed it, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet, little movies with a happy ending.
Well, that's going to do it for me today. This has been kinda fun. I don't know whether I will find enough stuff to write about, but we will see.
