So I was writing a letter to my little brother, and with it, I got him the paperback version of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince".

(he's not allowed Hardcover books in prison)

So I flashed back to a time when he and I were up in San Francisco last September for Folsom Street fair and we were bombed out of out minds... we were stumbling around the eagle, and he said he needed some air.

So we went for a short walk around the block, and he had his arm around me (mostly to keep us both from falling over) and he said "You know.. Im really glad that you're my brother. I know how lucky I am for that" and I looked at him (or one of the ones of him.. I think there were three of them at that point) and said "I can't image life without you in it".

(I'm not sure I was so eloquent, but after 6 beers, 4 martinis and 5 shots of Jagermeister, YOU try to be Shakespeare.)

Then he looked at me with a look of sadness on his face and said.. "Jasun.... WHY did DUmbledore have to die?"

We still laugh about that... What a great memory.

Just remember the small silly stuff... the big stuf kinda takes care of itself.

I know this wouldn't be your cup of tea, but there is a brilliant song by 10,000 Maniacs called "These Are Days." You should look it up if only to listen to the lyrics. Your story immediately reminded me of that song.

And I agree, remember the silly stuff. That's where the good, warm memories lie.

Soilwork! That is really sweet. :D

It's those little things, and little moments that I remember most about my friends, family, and significant others. ..|

It's the little things that make life worth living. :gogirl:

Thanks for sharing that, it sparked a few memories of my own. (*8*)

Not to mention my last visit to the Folsom Street Fair!

That is really sweet! My little sister (who I am very close to) is away right now and I really miss her...:(

All the good memories keep treasuring, and I'm sure you both will get to make a lot more.He is very lucky indeed to have you!..|

Last time I talked to him (not counting when he called me in a panic to tell me that they were about to move from from jail to Prison) I told him that I'm giving him 5 years to be crazy and then he has to settle down and find a nice guy, move out to the suburbs and adopt three kids, get a dog and an SUV and come visit me on the weekends.

Seems fair.

Sounds like a great plan. You can spoil the kids and then send them home. ;)
