i heard Cicely tyson is supposed to be getting honored as well but its not mentioned in this press release so maybe not. Anywho its so nice to see BET still showing whitney a whole lot of love. Its clear that they absolutely adore her over there and respect her highly. Afterall now that Michael jackson is gone whitney is like our only other black superstar left of that stature who is on that type of level in term of worldwide success, crossover appeal and superstardom. I cant wait to see who will be paying tribute to her and performing her songs. im also looking 4ward to seeing who will pay tribuite to Queen latifah. i love her and im glad shes getting recognition to.

^ Yes, you're right about Whitney being the next biggest black superstar left after Michael Jackson. No other black artists has as much cross-over appeal as them two.

And yeah BET shows Whitney MAD love! :=D:

Whitney Houston has not been relevant for two decades, since last century. If she is the only "black artists with as much cross-over appeal" we are in trouble.

Another bogus tribute show.

^ Like BET has accurately stated -- Whitney Houston has established a benchmark for superstardom that will quite simply NEVER be eclipsed/surpassed in the modern era. Her accomplishments, WORDLWIDE success, and the records that she has broken and set during the course of her career all speak for themselves. FIRST female artist in HISTORY to debut at #1 on the Billboard album chart. NO OTHER SINGER out today is on Whitney's level NOR on her level when it comes to star power and crossover appeal. Fact. Michael Jackson was the only one who was as big or bigger than she is, and now he is gone (R.I.P!)

.....DEAL with it! ..|

It's on right now!! Just came on. Jazmine sullivan is performing UNFORGETTABLE & ROCK STEADY for Queen latifah.......

Pattie killed that!! Her voice gets better with time. And whitney looks so good in the audience sittin by p.diddy!! she looks hot

I LOVED the tribute!! Kim Burrell SLAYED with her performance of "I Believe In You And Me". Love how she personalized the song and sang it from the heart right to Whitney. Whitney was totally feeling it. And she was genuinely surprised when Ne-Yo introduced Kim to the stage. LOL! Whitney jumped right up and jetted to the front of the stage and said, "Come on girl, you betta sang that song!" Afterall, Kim is one of Whit's fav singers. BET did good at booking Kim to surprise Whitney.

Patti sounded great! She always kills it. J-Hud did great as well. Love how she made the lyrics personal and sang the song straight to Whitney. Touching.

Absolutely LOVED Whitney's speech! It was totally REAL and straight from the heart. So touching! Whitney is truly in a better place and closer to God now. She was totally comfortable in her environment with her people/peers and jus lettin lose and soakin in all the love. Loved how she said "It's a wonderful feeling to be looked at and not be judged." Wow, that spoke volumes. And when she said "Be judged not for your flaws, but for your triumphs." And how she reminded everyone that we should lift each other up. REAL TALK!! Whitney was speakin the truth last night. :=D:

....I was mad that they didn't show the part where Ne-Yo presented her with the plaque for her album selling over 2 Million albums tho! Oh well....
