As you all know, I am old and my partner is in his dotage. Or at least we think so.

Within the space of two weeks, we have left the supermarket with an undeclared jar of vitamin pills just sitting in our cart when we got to the lot, somehow lost an entire package of crackers and totally had a laundry bag we purchased at Canadain Tire vanish between the check-out and pulling into our garage.

This was once unheard of and we used to look at one another, roll our eyes and make a silent pact to shoot one another if we ever got to be like this.

Get the guns.

Quite the opposite. I had a bottle of Southern Comfort in my trolley a while ago, the youth on the checkout had to remove a security tag. The difficulty doing that whilst I was chatting him up resulted in said bottle not getting scanned. Result!

There is nothing sad about getting old, it is only sad when you don't get the chance to get old.

the other day I watched my other half walk around the market with someone else's cart in tow and then ask two seperate people who did NOT work at the store where things were. I thought it was funny but also somewhat alarming..he too is in his dotage....lol
