Another "National" tragedy beyond believable!
When oh When, will our leadership in both houses of congress of the U.S. get enough gumption or grow some balls and pass true-gun-control-legislation?
I know this country (the U.S.) was founded on the right to bear arms; but WTF, don't you think this principle has gone too damn far? When our children canNOT even be protected from people who enter the schools, take hostages and blatantly KILL people, don't you think that the right to bear arms is just a front for allowing the killing of innoncent people?
I am a true believer of democracy and all the principles of it, including the right to bear arms; but this principle is NOT working.....we MUST do something, hiding behind the NRA's slogan's and red-necked justice, is NOT the way of true democracy!

I have to agree. As long as America continues its love affair with the gun, this will only get worse. I don't understand how the police and sherrif deparments can't back the Democrats who have tried to bring in more stringent gun laws. They are the ones who have to face this on a daily basis. I have no hope for the Republicans WHATSOEVER.

The American people have missed a golden opportunity. They are afforded the right to bear arms and yet, after 6 years, nobody has rid the U.S. of G. W. Bush. Therefore, I believe this right should be withdrawn.

Yes...he is arguing your point. The original reason we have the right to bear arms is antiquated. There was a time when this truly was a concern. Not the King, of course, but his army...I think that's what it boils down to.

As a teacher of teens, so am I. The kids this year are already emotional hormone bombs, I dread to think what might happen if one of them decides to bring something to school.
