its fun to hate sometimes, but why dont we stick to dissing specific tracks, instead of looking down on entire genres or periods.

people who say that "there hasnt been any good music since [insert decade during which the person was in their early 20es]" simply reveal about themselves that they have become complacent and arent paying attention anymore.

people who talk down an entire genre are being pointless. there are entire genres i mostly dislike (metal, hip hop, country) but that has clearly to do with lack of knowledge on my part. if id take the time to become more familiar with those genres, im sure id find plenty to like... there are already a handful of hip hop artists i enjoy.

  ... the crazy stuff people make/post on YouTube LOL

Rock 'n' Roll ain't noise pollution .. nor is metal

I personally don't consider that new stuff as 'metal'

hell, i'll keep it real for a second. honestly, rock in general has gotten a pass for a long time in terms of singing. there are a lot of bad singers that have managed to get a lot of kudos as if they have vocal talent just because they're in a rock band. once again, i don't understand how rock fans can say diss rap music saying it's not music yet they're backing up and showing love to shitty ass singers. i'm not saying that rock is terrible because i listen to rock myself but i think some people are just lying to themselves with the rock singers. i don't see how kurt cobain could be put up higher on the ladder in terms of singing ability to someone like freddie mercury. kurt cobain may have been a good song writer when he wanted to be because he has some songs that have made me go wtf but he ain't got shit on freddie. freddie is a beast. hell, kurt tried to jack layne stanley's vocal style away from him but layne is still shitting on him vocally even from his grave.

hell, steve tyler is judging people on a singer contest. they got the guy from maroon 5 judging a singer contest. i'll admit they may sound a little better than some rock singers but they're not all that good enough to judge another person's vocal ability. [-X

i listen to everything and i'm sure there's dope music in every music genre but with some music genre, there's more wack shit than good shit. for example, trance and dubstep.

Well said :) and also true.
When it first started coming out I hated 'alternative' / 'alt-rock' music, but have since grown to like some of it.

I personally dislike hip-hop/rap (especially the modern stuff)...but I'm not going to go as far as to say "all rap sucks" LOL simply not my type of music.
