So I'm checking my iGoogle page and notice this lovely Time News headline:

Obama's Rout Rejiggers the Race

Now I understand they're "trying" to say this changes the landscape of the campaign, but really "Rejigger"? When was the last time you used that word in a sentence? Yes, please do remind me of that unpleasant word, TIME.

Anyone else surprised by this? Any thoughts?

BTW - Perhaps we should write to TIME and suggest by-line chick Karen Tumulty be released from their employ. Or sent to SC to explain her choice of verbs.

"Rejiggers"???? What the Hell?

More bias from the Newspaper that has endorsed Hillary Clinton.

Demographics. Gotta be relevant. It's not just for politicians, y'know.

springboksfan, can you post a like to this? What is Time News? Surely not Time Magazine.

Perhaps Time should be a bit more niggardly with words that some may deem offensive, even if they really aren't offensive. Let's all stop standing in line waiting to be offended. It's a waste of time. There's more important things to get our collective panties all up in a twist over.

My apologies, Lalos. I was referring to my iGoogle page which lists news feeds from various sources. This one was, indeed, from Time Magazine. The first post contains a link to the original story. They've since changed the verb to "Reshapes." I need to learn to take screen caps!

Cute, Jack. No, really.

You should know by now that I'm not "standing in line waiting to be offended." It actually takes quite a lot to offend me. That said, this was just so blatantly obvious that my reaction was to gasp at the audacity of it.

I totally agree with this statement!:=D:
Seems far too many people are que'ed up, and waiting to pounce.

I don't see the problem.

A jigger is a device used in mixing drinks. We have one in the kitchen. Something you put in it and then shake is "jiggered".

So they meant Obama shook things up.

"I'm jiggered" can mean "I'm worn out" -- I don't think they meant that, though.

TIME Magazine has not endorsed Hillary Clinton.

My mistake. I was reading it very quickly and carelessly and thought it was the NY Times ... not Time Magazine.

Don't be surprised to see Time Magazine behind Hillary, however. Her and AIPAC see eye-to-eye.

Maybe a Dictionary would help?

Jigger:
–verb (used with object) 1.to interfere with. 2.to manipulate or alter, esp. in order to get something done illegally or unethically: to jigger company records to conceal a loss.
[Origin: 1865–70; jig2 (in verbal sense) + -er6
