It's here. Finally -- the word we've been waiting for. The announcement of ALL the TRANSFORMERS appearing in the film.
On Friday, 8/18, at 11am, the screenwriters - Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman - will announce the character names via a live webchat on Yahoo.
For fans, this is our chance to interact with the screenwriters, ask them questions via text and hear their answers live!

Frenzy - Originally was Soundwave. Rather than not be true to the character, Frenzy was created. Smaller, and able to infiltrate. (which is funny cause soundwave's tape decks robots were called Laserbeak, ravage, rumble, Razorhawk and a frenzy??? maybe I'm wrong)
Blackout
Most of the transformers will be from the G1 Universe. Characters are based on originals. The faces will change (vehicles, modes) but teh charcaters will be like you remember. Bumblebee has a relationship with Spike, just like the old cartoon.
Translating to live-action, being designed so that there is no mass shifting, size shifting - More realistic transformations. Comparisons to Spielberg/Jurassic Park - Humans interacting with Dinos, humans interacting with giant robots, you don't what what you're going to see.
Story designed so that you dont need to know anything about TF before you see it. But if you do know it, youll get more little references. Human perspectives first wonder at seeing TF, then the TFs take the stage. Separate storylines coming together. Not just a boys toys movie. Stuff for everyone.
Dynamic of Megatron & Starscream is there! YAY! It will be alive & well!
Hasbro has been involved since the beginning. Writers sat down with Hasbro design team and looked through all the TFs.
Why no [insert character]? Chose characters based on story. No need to waste them, or just throw them in. Save recognizable characters for possible sequel.
In disguised form they have realistic weapons (bullets, shells), but "pulse blasts', lasers, etc. also.
They wanted Bumblebee to be "cool", so they made him a Camaro. Change also made due to relationship with Spike and Bumblebee. Spikes first car.
When they "land" in 2006, these are the forms they take. 2006 based vehicles and such.
oh and there's a contest coming too. "Write a line for Optimus Prime, and they WILL put it in the movie." more details on this coming soon!
I watched Transformers the movie last night and I'd like to know why the constructicons/Devastator and the Insecticons are not listed? Also why not go with all G1 transformers. I don't care about G2, beast wars, armada, etc.
Wonder if they do a movie with Unicronion?
This is soooooooooo going to be the very awesomest of all awesomes movies in 2007.
