All right. Best place as any to ask for this sort of advice...

I started trimming my pubes a couple of months ago. I use an electric razor, and I simply trim to a light fuzz. I'm not going for baldness or anything like that.

At any rate, every time I trim -- of course -- the cut hairs rub up against and prick my skin and it itches. To those of you who also trim, is there any way I can limit this discomfort? Powders? Specific soaps? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I got the same itchy feeling after I started trimming, but my skin eventually got used to it. Could be the same with you. Just might have to wait awhile. In the meantime, a light moisturizer might work, although wouldn't want to keep your groin area too moist.

It gets really annoying at the gym. Heh.

Thanks for the tip, Jarren. Next time, I'll try a moisturizer.

don't trim, keep the pubic and body hair. Shave the facial hair.

what sort of razor/ brand do you use? as i shaved mine the other day and i cut a hole on my balls lol it healed but the blood made me freak out lol. any help? thank you

and does mosturiser or creams help?

you need to be careful with creams, especially after shaving because it blocks the follicles and you get painful in growing hairs.

waxing the best way to avoid irritation from hair, otherwise get a women's razor specifically designed for shaving the bikini/pubic area.

always make sure your skin is warm and damp when shaving/waxing. if you need/want to put something on the skin after use baby powder/talc but no creams or oils, and try to avoid tight clothing for 24 hours following

The only thing I can think of is a controlled flame. I've noticed that when I've accidently burned some hair on my arm from reaching across a candle or barbeque, etc., the hair stubs do not feel sharp. I'm not recommending any playtime with matches but this may be the most effective way. Oh, and about that running with scissors thing...

Suddenly gives a whole new meaning to "goodness gracious, great balls of fire", doesn't it?

I think I can live with prickly testicles. :/

If it itches then that means you cut it too short. If you're aiming for a light fuz, keep the length to about an inch. And avoid using an electric razor and use one of those hair trimmers you see at a barber shop.

You have to find the area that you want shaved and the rest trimmed. I shave the cock and balls, and that has to be reshaved every couple of days or so, or it does itch.

The hair above the genitals, I trim back with a scissors, but shaped, so it's not unnatural. It looks normal, just tidied up.

Just curious, but how long does it take you to shave your balls? And have you ever shaved too close to the skin?

That's kind of the problem. I don't want anything "shaved". I like a light fuzz on the sac.

i got a philips bodygroom works great, no itching and shit. haha

I'm a Beauty Therapist, and I would suggest trim with scissors but obviously use with caution. NEVER use any naked flame around the genital area whatsoever. For men it is difficult/or impossible buying electrical equipment for this specific area, so try using the female versions for specificly that area, they tend to be easier to hold and half the weight than male electric shavers. If you shave the bikini line/sack, a handy hint is to keep the skin taut and if you wax stretch the skin taut before you pull of the wax or strip of wax, alternativly if guys want to wax try the salons in your area the therapists that do male intimate waxing should make you feel comfortable and not embarrassed. Afterwards I suggest no tight clothing for 24hrs, no hot or cold enviroments like baths, saunas or plunge pools for 24hrs, no sunbeds or sunbathing. As far as products go, try to avoid any alcohol based products as these will sting and try to avoid heavy creams as these can block the pores try to use an aloe vera based product or maybe a tea-tree based product but check the ingreidients that it does not contain alcohol as some tea-tree products do. Hope that helps
