This Sunday, February 24, 2019, is Oscar Night on ABC.
I have been watching some films from Turner Classic Movies that are reminding me why I love the movies. (Well, I loved them more in the past.)
Over the last couple weeks, and with some use of TCM’s app, “Watch TCM,” among the titles I enjoyed: Lassie Come Home (1943), Travels with My Aunt (1972), The Sunshine Boys (1975, Oscar for best supporting actor George Burns), A Little Romance (1979, Oscar for original score to Georges Delerue), and, from the linear channel itself, Philadelphia (1993, Oscars for best actor Tom Hanks and original song “Streets of Philadelphia’ for Bruce Springsteen). I am intending to watch A Man for All Seasons, the 1966 winner for best picture (along with others, including director Fred Zinnemann and actor Paul Scofield).
Has anyone here been spending some time, in the month of Oscar, with Turner Classic Movies?
If yes, watch have you watched?
