UK meet location poll... take 2

As suggested in the other thread... a poll to determine locations for a UK meet. Click as many as you like, and then we'll sort it out...

I tried to pick big, gay-friendly places for the poll - but if enough other people want it, it could happen

We'll sort out "when" once we've hot a fair idea of where people want to go....

Haha, while Sittingbourne would be more convenient for me as well I'm not expecting anybody else to go for it!

I'd say Newcastle, personally, or Durham.

I know they both seem like I'm trying to make it easier for myself, but my kinda-boyfriend says that Durham is the one place he's walked around without feeling like he's gonna get mugged.

They're both pretty places, they're both fairly well kept, they're both good for shopping - especially Newcastle - and other various wonderful little things.

Barring that, I guess I'd probably say Leeds. If it's in London or Birmingham, you won't have me going there. I can't stand either of them, two of my least favourite places on the planet. I felt like I was gonna be killed wandering around there.

Maybe I'm biased. Last time I went, I nearly got pushed off a tube platform, and then wandered around Brixton.

And I was, at the time, 17 and it was just me and a mate there.

However, I've always thought of it as a place that's both too big and too small. It's so huge you could get lost in it with ease... yet there's no space for anyone, just tiny little streets with thousands of people on, flanked by huge buildings.

Nah, not for me.

I'd go for that. I live there, so I am choosing it because of convenience.

So for the record, I vote Newcastle.

Manchester or Leeds are prolly the furthest I could comfortably get to.

I stand by my earlier thoughts - Manchester in February.

Central - many gay friendly places so I hear - So I vote for Manchester. (Although its very close for me I don't want it to be in London)

well, London and Manchester are pretty close in the running. Speaking personally, although London would be easier for me to get to, I'd be quite happy to go to either.

Howzabout we leave this poll open for another couple of days, and then hold a run-off contest between the two (in order to give the people who voted for other places a chance to state a preference)

Nothing WRONG with London as such - but I can go their anytime and this would be somewhat of a little adventure for me - so somewhere new would be good.

But - whatever London is only an hour away for me so its all good

Yeah - sure it would be an adventure - being taken out of the comfort zone of your regular friends - in a new place with new people with the focus on being gay - sounds like an adventure to me

I think I can see what is going to happen here - we are going to struggle to choose between the two places

Where are all the other people who voted - come out of the UK closet so we can see who we are agreeing to spend the night with
