UK Winter 2006 JUB Meet-Up.

People who like each other enough to be good friends take it upon themselves to organise these things. They don't need threads to do it
 
Talked about this to a couple people, actually.
Possibly would be up for it, but all dependant on dates and locations!
Having a job really does get in the way of so much!! :grrr:

We can arrange it now, so that it is far in advance - giving people more than adequate time to get time off work etc, and save up a few quid if they need to.

How do you know that there isn't already a UK meet up going on this winter anyway???

I may be interested, but would like to express some grave concerns for the system of meet-up arrangement you detailed in your original post. Perhaps you could clarify the following points:

  • How many ideas are required to establish critical mass of the meet-up project?
  • If an insufficient number of ideas are generated by interested parties, what would you propose that sponsors do to avoid feeling let down and dejected by the system?
  • Is the voting process overseen by a neutral third party? If so, who has the responsibility of selecting this?
  • How would do you envisage dealing with a split vote?
  • Do you see the meet-up as an opportunity for an orgy of conversation or an orgy of forced physical affection?
  • Do you think that you have responsibility for the ultimate success or failure of any meet-up?

I eagerly await your reply.

London is easy for me to get to; Manchester slightly less easy but still doable. But really, I'm up for anywhere south of Newcastle as long as I can find a place to stay...

Any Friday or Saturday evening in December is fine. If You want it during the week, I can only make it if it's the week of Dec. 4th...
 
I'd love to meet up with other gay guys from England, but I'd be unable to make it. There's no way anyone's gonna stick it in Middlesbrough, and any further afield is impossible.
 
I think London is as far as I'm gonna get. When is this meet up gonna happen cos I'm pretty much all busy until after January.
 
London's crowded, expensive, and easy to get lost in, so it's probably not a good idea to hold it there. To be honest, the most neutral place is somewhere central like Wolverhampton... But even then, I couldn't go. Ho hum.

The last time I went into Fibre, I walked straight back out again. The people that go there are up their own arses (to put it politely).
 
I'm certainly interested but like some others, dates, times, location etc would be important because for most of January I have exams at uni :(

Since I'm travelling I'd need to know if I have to plan for overnight etc...
