Unwanted Zoom

Sometimes when using the touchpad on my Dell laptop, the zoom level is activated and the screen gets very large. I have to change the zoom back to 100...and later, without warning, it may zoom again. It gets very annoying. Any advice on how to make it stop doing that??

what kind of zoom? like in your browser?

probably the rim of your touchpad is used for scrolling. when you scroll and hold ctrl pressed, you zoom

Yes, it happens when I use my browser and sometimes when I'm using Word...I didn't know that the rim of the touchpad could be used to zoom or scroll...I discovered that today after reading your reply. Is there a way to disable that feature on the touchpad?

sometimes the touchpad drivers allow you to do that. check in your systray (next to the clock) if you find anything related to the touchpad.
