Congressional republicans have corrupted Ron Wyden (D-OR), the ranking member of the senate finance committee, probably at Chuck Schumers (D-NY) request, to allow a fast track up or down vote of the TPP.

Republicans DO NOT HAVE THE VOTES to fast-track TPP in the house, needing at least 50 democrats to sell out, but now that a deal has been "reached" the vote could soon happen..most of the tea party refuses to go along as well, opposing anything the president wants to do.

There is nothing in this bill that will help workers or keep a check on mega-corporations.

The only thing republicans and Obama have agreed on at democrats request is placating labor groups with phony trade assistance that is temporary and worthless in the long run.

Obama and Republicans say this will help America in its trade war against China, that is cold comfort to the millions of people who will continue to suffer under the backroom deals crafted by the worlds biggest poverty producing corporations.

Now its an emergency, stop corporate greed from putting a tighter stranglehold on the world economy. Stop TPP from banning GMO labeling.

“Over and over again we’ve been told that trade deals will create jobs and better protect workers and the environment,” said Senator Bob Casey, Democrat of Pennsylvania. “Those promises have never come to fruition.

Senator Brown (D-OH) demanded to know Hillarys position on TPP.

“I don’t think negotiating objectives without more enforcement mechanisms get you very far,” he said. “Negotiating objectives are, ‘Hey U.S.T.R., try to get this,’ and they’ll say, ‘We tried.’ We need something better than that.”

I'd be VERY surprised if Hillary isn't all for it, as well, because she is entirely a globalist. It disappoints me greatly that Obama continues to push for it. Same old, same old...any Republican president would, of course, be all for TPP.

OK, MAYBE NOT Ron "just let the poor DIE if they get sick" Paul, because I think he'd be against it on sovereignty issues, but probably not anybody else.

Justifiably sounding apocalyptic, this may be the worst contract of any kind that will ever be entered into, in our lifetimes. As I understand the treaty, it gives corporations ABSOLUTE supremacy over governments and laws of all nations, and a small Chinese company could demand the right to again fill dog food with lethal plastic milk, and their right to do so would be complete, and the United States would have no legal way to keep the product away. I believe that if a dangerous product is refused, the corporation could take the United States to court and sue for loss of business and loss of profits ETC., as well as serve a cease-and-desist order (to stop blocking the product imports) which would be required to be enforced (somehow).

Certainly the USA would be 100% guaranteed to lose any hope of prevailing on any kind of case which may be similar to, for example, building the KXL Pipeline - the foreign corporation would win, because corporations will be the most supreme ruling force on this planet.

Is this how it works? That's what I hear, but I've been AFRAID to read the nuts and bolts of it all - it would take forever. OR NOT??? MAYBE NO READING AT ALL, if the document is entirely secret and nobody knows what's in it?????

This planet, if under complete corporate rule as the new dictators - yeah imagine, Monsanto as one of the most powerful dictators - yes, this planet will be...FUCKED.

TPP is unbridled, pure, and absolute fascism on a global scale.

Such hysterical screeching is not helpful. It would be difficult and consuming to read and digest it all and try to guess the intended and unintended consequences. I take comfort that the bad guys are against it-- Chomsky. Sanders, Reich, Krugman, labor bosses, while those who build and produce and create jobs are for it. Ron Paul may have a point that we are giving up too much of our sovereignty and therefore part of our democracy. The long negotiations suggest that we have given up a lot in compromise--I wonder what?

Any treaty that allows a foreign corporation to even file a lawsuit against the US for enforcing its own laws gives up too much sovereignty.

I'd prefer a bill that allows the Coast Guard to board foreign vessels and confiscate any goods that violate our laws. The Constitution was meant to improve our lives, not sell them out.

More ridiculous over the top nonsense from evanrick. Comparing a trade treaty with slavery? Really?

I haven't done enough research on this to know whether I think it's a good idea or not, but comparisons like that don't help any kind of rational discussion.

a complete takeover of the planet

World Copyright Czar DISNEY, Global Edibles Oversight Officer MONSANTO, Construction Standards Minister BLACKWATER (or whatever they're called this week), Bureau of Financial Controls A. I. G., Department of Education Standards Chief LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, ...

corporations are people, my friend.

Well, it's ONE way to stop population from going of control. Billions of people could die "prematurely" in the next fifty years.

as part of his plan to destroy the white Christian majority

You know, your overt racism is getting a little disgusting.

Haven't you heard the new marching orders from GOP headquarters? It's supposed to be a dog whistle, not a blowhorn.

It is not racism to object to a racist policy.

Asserting that America needs to maintain a white christian majority is indeed racist.

That is like saying that the Jews were wrong to resist nazi plans. Policies to destroy the white majority are racist.

Comparing Obama to a Nazi?

And you've lost the argument via Godwin's law.

And your post was racist plain and simple. A statement that the white majority must be maintained is racist.

You lie. I was attacking your racist statement, not Obama's.
I did not say that "the white majority must be maintained" ; those are your words. I said that efforts to destroy the white majority are racist, and indeed they are. Apparently this is a distinction too subtle for you.

Nope, not a racist here. I could care less if white people maintain a majority.

That they do does seem very important to you however. It also obviously is for racists.

What I said was that Obama's plan to destroy the white majority is racist.

So, you're saying that the white majority must be maintained, no matter what? That's pretty unconstitutional of you.
You lie. I did not say that. You keep twisting what I say, either dishonestly or because you cannot understand the difference.

Seriously mods? Seriously?

It must be exhausting Benvolio, to have to split your time between JUB and Stromfront. Or is it too uncomfortable over there because they also hate queers.

Anti-white is as racist as anti-black would be.
