If I was taking someone out for a cheap date, here's some things I might do.

Go to a fun cheap restaurant. An out-of-the-way place that has kick-ass burritos or burgers or Greek food. How about going to that pizza parlor with the crappy video games?

Then out for some fun. Where? Depends on what's going on. I'd see if the roller debry team has a match. Or if the burlesque troupe was having a show. Or go see that band that plays spy/surf instrumental music while old B&W spy movies play on a screen behind them. Or go play laser tag. Or,if I wanted something a bit quieter, go see the new exhibits at the botanical gardens, or go to the zoo and feed the elephants.

Then, of course, mind-blowing sex. But do try it with condoms, K? :)

Cook dinner and set the table nice with candles (which is always cheaper than going out and more romantic).

...and go dancing - which could mean going to a club, or have a little dance just the two of you at home.

Plannning to give my partner a solid chocolate heart with his name on it.

Just a simple sign of affection, which even the few jadded Jubbers who HATE Valentine's Day, should NOT bitch about.

If you go to a candy store at this time of year, you can usually get chocolate novelties like candy roses, chocolate covered strawberries, or even chocolate coconut clusters (my favorite, if anyone's interested LOL).

Anyhow, those in a red bag with tissue paper would be about $5 and it's a thoughtful, holiday-appropriate gift. Buy a couple of whatever you get and feed it to him. It's wonderful!

I also like the idea (above) about cooking a nice meal yourself. If that's not practical or possible, then go to a nice, but moderate, restaurant and each pay their own.

A nice card goes a long way too, even if it's more of a "friendship" card than a you're-the-love-of-my-life sappy card.

Remember, at Valentine's Day especially, it really is the thought that counts!

I remember one of the most special moments and dates I had (and that I have repeated for others) was provided by my first boyfriend.

I went to his house and we had a nice dinner -- you don't have to have filet mignon; just something nice can often be more flattering (and if he eats out alot like me, it's great!). A couple glasses of wine, some music and the lights turned down.

Walk him into the bathroom and take his clothes off. Don't let him touch yours. Have the mood set with candles flickering and the lights off; have the water warm and bubbles. As you take his clothes off, gently kiss and caress him and then help him into the tub.

Kiss his neck and give him a massage, starting with his neck and working down each of his arms. Massage his legs and feet, stopping at the soles of his feet and kissing each of his toes.

Refill his wine glass and warm the water if it is getting cold. When he is starting to wrinkle, stand him up and wipe his entire body -- first with the towel and then with your tongue!

Tell him he has to do NOTHING...and walk him into the bed and cuddle with him (or keep caressing and sucking all over his body. My ex gave me the greatest of all rim jobs that night! Ha..ha.. (and I was definately clean!)

You could put on a movie and watch it as you both drift off to sleep but I bet he'll not remember the movie the next day!

^ actually the first boyfriend worked in an adult care home but was an RN! And did he know his anatomy! Ha..ha..!
