i actually like this song from carly simon. i was flipping through the channels on tv and i saw carly simon on vh1 classic. i heard the whole song for the first time. it's a great song with its catchy tune.

who else in here likes this classic?

great song by carly (with a little help from mick jagger). still a lot of people want to know who that song was written about.

wasn't it the song about Warren Beatty, who she dated or is that just a myth

Carly: It certainly sounds like it was about Warren Beatty. He certainly thought it was about him - he called me and said thanks for the song….

He probably thought the song was about him. It's Beatty 100% as far as I'm concerned.

Nope. She has been asked about it for years and while never giving an absolute answer, since the mystery is better, Beatty seems to be who it was written about.

No Secrets, the album it first appeared on, is one of my all time favs.

I remember she wrote down who it was about at an auction and sold it to this guy for $250,000.00 how crazy is that.

I love Carly Simon, YSV is her biggest hit, but not her best. I own all of her albums, & CD's, Carly is still going strong and releasing a new CD in January. I think Carly's best is "Born to Break My Heart" from The Bedroom Tapes.

I thought I heard on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 that Beatty and Rod Stewart were sporting enough to be background vocals, although they were the possible target of the song.

It has been a long time since that radio show - so I may be mistaken. Sorry.

I am a huge Carly fan-have even seen her live.
IMO her best album is Boys in the Trees
what many don't know about her is how kinky some of her music is! (in a good way) she is a Very sexual lady :-)
her music isn't cookie cutter stuff
