Vista's 100m sales mark said to hide disappointing results

I, for one, tried Vista and went back to Windows XP. My opinion...Vista sucks.

The article is right on. The corporates have largely refused to switch to Vista. Not worth it. XP works just fine.

Net Applications says that Vista held 10.5% of the market as of the close of 2007. Windows XP, however, had taken over 67% of the market one year after its release in 2001. Relatively speaking, Vista has not been anywhere near as popular as was XP.

None of this means anything, though. Vista's lack of popularity has been more than compensated by its much higher cost. Microsoft - already the most profitable company on Earth - has just completed the most profitable year in its history.

Vista doesn't need to be a good or a desirable product for it to make lots of money. And, while people's general dislike of Vista may cause it to take a bit longer to dominate the market, it nevertheless will soon be running on every computer in sight. After this summer, Vista will be the only Windows available. You won't have any choice.

Vista is a bitch, it either works wonders for u or its hell on ur PC, either way I personally recommend rolling back to XP if u can.

Microsoft know this too they know that the IT industry hates vista, there pretty embarrassed by it too, so they should be, it could have been so much more than what it ended up being

I don't think Microsoft cares very much whether people like Vista or not. They know we'll buy it no matter what. In fact, it may be smart for them to release an OS nobody wants. That way, you pay for Vista when you get your new computer, and then you buy a copy of XP to replace Vista!

My laptop came with Vista, and I hated it so much I wiped it and installed ubuntu. (I might have gone back to XP, but I didn't have a spare $300 on me). So I paid the Microsoft tax. You sends your money to M$, whether or not you want or use their products.

I built a new computer and put Vista on it. I had many problems getting my software to run on it. So, I took Vista off after one week and installed XP. All of my software now runs and I think I made a wise decision.
