Im circumcised and was having trouble with dry skin on the head of my penis. I tried hand lotions and baby oil but it didn't really help. I had read where applying vitamin E oil would help the dry skin and caratination (spelling) of the skin. I've been applying it a couple of times a day for the past 2 weeks. the dry skin is pretty much gone and the skin on the head is much more soft. I've started noticing the color of the head is changing from a purplish to more of a pink. more like the heads I see on guys that aren't circumcised. has anyone else used vitamin E oil? I dont think it's anything to worry about and isn't causing me any problems like rashes or itcing.

any advice or if someone has some experience in this area I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I've long wondered if this really is something that works and if there is anything wrong with doing it. I'll be interested to hear what people have to say!
 
I would have assumed this is just another snake-oil. But I am happy if it works for you!

thanks for the spelling help. drove myself nuts using spell check and couldn't get it to work. lol

I wasn't so sure about it either but nothing else was working for the dry skin so I thought about giving it a try. it's only been a couple of weeks but am noticing some changes. will see what happens. I'm assuming if I stop the keratinization will just re appear. for now Im planning to keep using it and will see what happens.

As a clinical pharmacist, I don't see any harm in using topical vitamin E. There really isn't a lot of strong documented evidence regarding its efficacy, but it seems to be safe.
 
thank you for the advice. like I said, it's helped the dry skin and the head appears to be a bit more sensitive. not much but noticeable.

My dad was big on vitamin E. I had a relative that had shingles on her scalp for years, she used it, and it cleared up.
