Vitamins: Good or Bad?

From a Health Consultant's point of view, I need to know what is the brand of the Multivitamin and its name? Perhaps I could give it a check and see why the symptoms occur.

If food available in typical American food markets was fresh it might be possible to get all the vitamin supplementation our bodies need. But with the use of preservatives on "fresh" vegetables that gives them a very long shelf life, without actually preserving anything of their nutritional values, it becomes extremely difficult to get the vitamins our bodies need. The best bet actually becomes frozen vegetables, because they are processed fast and flash frozen thereby preserving at least some of their nutritional values.

Next time you are in a market, pay attention to how many food products have vitamins added. Personally, I'd rather take a good quality single pill that provides my MDR, than get a lot of artificial vitamins in my food. I at least feel more in control of what's going into my body.

BTW Do they work? I occasionally go off my vitamin pill for a week or two. By the end of the off period, I find myself dragging a little. The restart of the morning pill is an immediate pick me up. So yes, I think they do work. Since the body passes off any excess it might have through the urine, it would have a tendency to turn the urine darker yellow. Harmless? Who knows? Certainly not the AMA, since they haven't bothered to do any studies.

I only take take iron supplements as I have a defiency, I don't see the point in taking anything if your diet is balanced and you dont suffer any form of deficieny, I believe they should only be taken to replace what you lack, not add to what you have.
any many forms of multi-vitamins contain extra sodium and fats to help absorbtion, read the ingredients reeeeeeeeeaaaal carefully people, and you need to make a choice, either take several differant ones or one multi-vit, DONT take individuals and a mutli-vit, you'll more than double your intake and too much of some things can cause serious health problems ie...excess vitamin A can lead to blindness.
If there is nothing wrong with you then don't take them, if you want vitamin C eat an orange twice a day, cheaper, tastes nicer and has no side affects
