The Voynich Manuscript was written centuries ago, and, so far, nobody has been able to crack the code.

Now, maybe someone will succeed where others have failed.

A Spanish publisher has gained the rights to clone and publish the manuscript. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ights-voynich-manuscript-book-no-one-can-read

Think you've got what it takes to read a book that nobody can read?

My guess is that it wasn't supposed to make sense in the first place. But I'd be excited if there was a code and it got cracked.

As an academic wrote in his blog about this article:

"I obviously understand that the manuscript is popular among the admirers of Dan Brown's world. Still, I am surprised that the newspaper doesn't even mention with a word that there are huge doubts about its authenticity. It has been forgotten to mention as well, that it is the leather, on which the manuscript is written, that is dated, rather than the text itself. There is no mention also of the fact that no serious Renaissance or modern scholar, looking at the period's texts on herbs or pharmacy, ever refers to this manuscript, except possibly as a hoax. There is no information about its existance before its "discovery". The Voynich himself is also a shady character, no serious collector wanted this manuscript so in the end it was gifted to the library of Yale, etc.

The Yale library, in my opinion, could have underscored the very possible forgery (and the effect of this forgery on the culture), rather than in the spirit of American commercialism promoting this manuscript as an authentic artefact."

One of the comments on the article cited.

I wonder myself if the entire thing wasn't some kind of hoax. But cleverly executed.

^ Like the Vineland Map.

Edit: They both start with the letter 'V'. Coincidence? I think not!!

I have been fascinated by this manuscript for years. It is available to view online and I have pdf copies. I would love to be able to study a faithful facsimile in real life, but I would never be able to afford one of these exact reproductions.
