Wanting to JUB at work - worried about being tracked

Yeah, don't do it. It doesn't matter whether you're connected wirelessly or hard-wired directly to the router - they'll still know.

The only way is to bypass the shop's internet access altogether. You could connect your laptop directly to the internet, for example, by using your cell phone as a modem (expensive!) or by signing up for a wireless broadband access plan from a carrier like Verizon.

Verizon sells a broadband card that can plug into a PCMCIA, Express Card, or USB slot and will connect your laptop to the internet via their wireless phone network. It costs $60/month, however.

use one of those free web-based proxies. they'll mask the url. go for the paid one and you can encrypt too. and you can always build your own proxy/vpn/tunnel...

Unless you are comfortable talking directly to your boss and telling him you'd like to view a website called "JustUsBoys - World's Biggest Gay Porn Portal", then don't do it.

um .. a vpn isn't anything "suspicious" in my eyes. at least it shouldn't be for a boss of a computer store. i use vpn's all the time to access my home computer from elsewhere.
but if you don't want to use a vpn, let your computer running at home and connect to it over remote desktop protocol or vnc, and surf on your home machine - that shouldn't be suspicious. but still .. it's risky .. just imagine somebody gets to look on your display and you don't notice it before ..

How do u check your router for sites that are visited. Do you think my parents know how to find it? Shoot...I knew it was time to move out :(

^ wut he sed. and add to that: but you don't have xp pro, you can also use nx from nomachine.org.

you can also use a proxy with anonymity..

Here is a small excerpt from my router log. You can see that it does indeed track websites but only when I configure it to do so.
