I spent three hours tonight trying to watch just one episode of "West Wing" online. No matter where I went, it either didn't play, stopped playing after a minute or two, or froze.

Does anyone know a place I can watch Season 4... the episode with the presidential campaign debate -- different sites number it differently, from 5 to 7.

Help???

It's not really that hard, just do a Google search and they will have sites that share it on file sharing sites.

Are you able to watch other video with no problem?

The freezing and the stopping would make me want to make sure your computer is up to it and your Internet connection does not have a bandwidth limit...

Doing a Google search was how I started. I found maybe eight places I could find episodes. Like three were pay sites, one was download only.

I picked one and found the first episode I wanted to see, and there was no problem, except it took about half a minute to get started. Once it was going, I watched it straight through with no trouble. So I hunted and found the next episode I wanted -- and started getting the glitches.

So I went to a different site, and ran into the same problem. I went to another episode, and it played fine. The same was true of three other sites -- just that one episode had problems.

I've watched entire movies online before without any trouble, so this has me really bewildered. Every now and then there will be a buffering notice, but the pause is rarely more than a few seconds.

I think I'm going to try it again and say if a different day makes a difference -- dumb, but what the heck.

What I did was put in a website that I usually do when searching for files like rare Vinyls and I came up with filestube. I put in what I am wanting to find.

Sometimes you have to download the episode on to your computer in order to watch it. Most streaming websites lose the file or it gets deleted due to lack of activity.

I gave up on streaming sites ages ago and now just use torrents. Apparently with the latest version of uTorrent, you can stream things that you are downloading :-)

The likely problem is not the sites, Kuli, but your internet connection.

You can check your connection speed at any moment at speedtest.net. But, appreciate that connection speeds may vary from day to day and even hour to hour.

Morgaes' suggesting of downloading the shows as torrents is good. It will take longer to download over a slow connection, but at least it will play normally once you've got it.

Also, make sure you aren't doing something that's chewing up your bandwidth while you are trying to stream the shows (e.g., torrents).

Yeah, I think I was streaming off Netflix and from time to time it would do buffering, but that's probably normal. I am still running shitty slow Internet DSL Verizon so the speed won't be the best around. I am thinking of upgrading but I am very happy with what I have.
