I did this once upon a time but for the life of me I can't remember where and what to change in the code of the web page.

I don't know alot about what I am doing, that's my first problem.

I have a web page where I used 4 frames. I want other pages to open in the main window which is col 2 row 2

any ideas??

you need to name the frame, and then use the target property of the anchor tag in the links.

Jamie, see if this will help you out. Also, take a look at some websites that might use the frame layout/opening idea you're after and view the source.

Think positive! That page is very well-written and explains things in simple terms - it's not "another form of English", and is even titled "Working with Frames (When you don't actually know much about we pages)". There's even a specific section, "More about target", which follows up to the idea that you yourself proposed in your reply to Corny!

If you're really passionate about something, you'll dive into all the resources you can get your hands on for it and learn by just experimenting. You can't want to work on your web project all that bad if you dismiss a resource that'll help you with that. :)

Unfortunately most people don't want help - they want solutions.

as it worked out I put my thinking cap on , took a nap and when I woke up I took another stab at it.

It worked !

it was just a matter of adding taget="row2col2" to my code that was on row 2 col1

here is the link I am talking about
librophoto.com/bodytanners.htm in the romote chance it comes up again

thanks to all.
