The shortest time I held a job was about a month MANY years ago when I was attending tech shool.
That was before computer days and my job was alphabetically sorting, by hand, charge slips at an upscale department store.

Some of you may have noticed I've not been on the forum as much as normal, I've been gainfully employed for the last few months and for the most part have been enjoying it.

Sadly I'm about to give the job up at Christmas time, just too much of a commute and the dark winter weather, and my feet beginning to kill me really.

It's been one of my shorter employment periods but what is the shortest you have ever kept a job...and why ?

To answer your OP question. Four months is the shortest amount of time I held a job. I had decided to make a change into a different career. Four months after I started the job in went into bankruptcy. If you are looking for job changes that are of our own choosing, my answer would be 3 years. The year I graduated from High School I left a fast food business job that i had all during high school and went to work at a grocery store. I was there for 3 years.
