I know that this post is similar to many others. I would normally be patient and prefer to figure things out for myself, but I discovered that I haven't got much time.
This is (more or less) the summery of what heppened. Here goes...
About a month a go I went to this amusement park with some friends. One of the rides (which you had to take individually) had to do with a swimming pool. So we decided to check it out. I was standing in a queue and just before my turn, I looked around and saw this extremely cute boy. He was a lifeguard. I would say that he was 19 - 21. He told the two boys in front of me that if they sat on the right side, it would be more enjoyable. He talked in a casual manner... It was one quick sentence with no smiles or anything.
So, I took the ride, left my friends and came back to have a second look. This time there was no queue. I decided I would say something, and this (as awkward as it was) is the summery of our conversation:
Me: excuse me, can I ask you somthing?
Him: yeah!
Me: Have you tried all the rides here?
Him: Yeah...
Me: Which one do you like the most?
Him (and he answered this with an amazing smile, I wish I knew what his smile meant): Which one I like most?? See that one there (and he pointed towards a distant ride) I think that one's the best.
Me (I had already tried that ride and it, indeed, was the best): Yeah, it's really fast and twists and turns.
Him: Yeah. (still smiling)
Me: Tha - (I wanted to thank him, but he interrupted me)
Him: Which one do you like?
Me (I didn't expect him to ask, so I got nervous): Yeah... I like that one too. I think it's really fast. Alright... Thanks. (he was smiling the whole time now!)
And I turned away and started to get in the ride he was supervising.
Him: see ya (this also was unexpected, since I already turned. I mean, they'd normally leave you alone, right? or am I thinking too much about it)
So I just mimicked him: See ya
I returned for a third time some ten minutes later. At first I thought he wasn't there, so I looked around, then he popped from behind a - a ... something. He appeared from behind something which I cannot clearly remember. I couldn't find anything to say, so I just moved towards the ride. This time, there were no smiles
Anyway, I was so optimistic (maybe a bit too much) that I returned the next day.
I was with my friend, and for some reason we were walking backwards, when we passed across the boy. I told my friend where he thought the boy was from based on his accent, Australia or England (my friend was and is unaware of my intentions and acted innocently) so he simply went and asked. The boy said (without smiling) that he was from the UK.
Anyway, as we moved (still walking backwards) I kept glancing at the boy as he watched over the pool. He was looking in all directions, including ours, so I couldn't keep my eyes on him. But as we were far away (still walking backwards), I knew he couldn't exactly see where I was looking, so I dared to fix my eyes on him. By that time he had stopped looking in other directions. I couldn't see which point he was looking at, but it was in our direction.
Now, am I making too much out of this??? Still, this is not my point, although an answer would be appreciated...
I discovered that the park would be closed at the beginning of December for the winter. So, I'll have to act quickly to figure out if I've got a chance.
I've decided that tomorrow morning I would go to the park and stay till about 4 p.m. Any suggestion? How can I start a coversation with him that would give me a general idea without outing myself??
