Has anyone ever had a physical at a Wellnow urgent care clinic? Just wondering how thorough they are?

I moved this thread to Hot Topics because I think it will get more attention in the Hot Topics forum.

Nope only ever been my PCP. If something serious is going on then schedule an appointment with your PCP! If an EMERGENCY go to your local ER!

My Partner and I have full medical insurancw and are checked out any time we need them!

Ideally, you should seek out a permanent primary care provider for a routine physical...although if you are a student or someone not planning on living in that community for the long term, that can be a bit of a challenge.

An urgent care clinic is likely more geared toward assessing and treating a specific problem. If this is the case, that is the place to start with them.

Our doctors no longer do routine physicals because there was really no value to them.

On the HMOs both myself and the wife get a wellness check once a year. It falls far short of a complete physical but that's fine by me.

I go to the not so urgent clinic called Wellater.

A lot of times an urgent care doesn’t even have a Doctor check you out. It’s either a nurse practitioner or a physician’s assistant.

My insurance pays for a full physical every year with my PCP and I have a 20 minute checkup every 6 months only because of a medication that I take requires blood tests.

What troubles me is that at age 69 the drs. don't stick their fingers in my ass anymore... I told the last one to use 2 fingers because I wanted a second opinion.:rotflmao:

Unfortunately, I live in a state where Wellnow has no locations. These "walk in" style of clinics do seem to be very popular.

I had never heard of Wellnow before. I do have a primary doctor and a few specialists I see perhaps twice a year.
