i'm a new bottom and i'm going to experiment with putting things in my asshole tonight. i got 3 butt plugs, 2 didlos, and a vibrator, along with 10 fingers. is vaseline ok? what IS ok? a list, maybe?

Stay away from vaseline, as it can damage many toys and condoms, as well as being none too good or your rectum eiter.

As far as libricants go, stick with one of the water based ones, which are safe and non toxic, ad won't harm you, or your toys. Some major brands are:

KY Jelly
Wet
ID
Astroglide(my personal fave)

There are more, but those seem to be the most commonly available. If you can, get some Astroglide. That's my personal reccomendation.

also, silicone based lubes can damage most toys too, so as far as toys go, stick with water based.

Boy Butter's safe, I think. I've used it and haven't had a problem...
The regular boy butter is not condom compatible. The boy Butter H2O is.

I'm not sure how it works with toys, but I'd be interested in finding out...;)

Being oil-based, no latex. I paid too much for my cyberskin Dildo to take chances, so I had to use a poly condom.

can i use vaseline for fingering myself, though?

I like good ol' 90w gear oil. Never lets me down.

Or astroglide.

Butter - vegetable oil - margarine - Crisco - olive oil - can all be used for most toys and your fingers. Don't use these with latex condoms. Astroglide and KY are best for latex and are great for lubes.

i found some crisco in my cabinet. really made the night more enjoyable.

Best bet: buy water-based personal lubricant. It is designed for this type of thing, and you will always have something condom-compatible immediately available.

ajacobs is incorrect: silicone lubes are perfectly safe with condoms, and they're much better than water based; more slippery and less sticky.

For example (from http://www.condom.com/wetplatinum.html):

Wet Platinum is the ultimate techno-formulated lubricant that never dries out! Stays slick even under water. Extremely long-lasting, can even be used as an excellent oil-free massage lotion. Silicone based, safe for use with all condoms.
