I’m too embarrassed to go to a sex shop and buy lube, so is there anything I can use as a substitution? I was told I could use Baby Oil or hand lotion, but the baby oil bottle says for external use only. So, is hand lotion any safer? I’ve been trying to finger myself, but I’ve only been able to get 1 finger in my anus. I want to open it bit more, so that when I do have anal sex it won’t hurt as much.

Try extra virgin olive oil .LOL . It really works.*|*

I don't know about the extra virgin olive oil  but will caution you against using lotions or baby oil because they will break through condoms. And you are using condoms - right?

It can be a little embarassing the first few times you approach the counter with condoms, lube or toys but think of it this way; you're getting some! Also, the clerk in the sex shop has seen it all and then some. That should be reason enough to get through a minute or two of discomfort. After you've done it a couple of times it will be no different than buying a box of kleenex

Any drugstore, foodchain, supercenter carries KY jelly or a much less expensive version called "Equate" personal lubricant at Walmart.

I'm not sure where you're located, but around here, you can usually buy most commonly used lubricants in grocery stores/supermarkets. They can also be found in most pharmacies/chemists. The sales clerks really will not care why you're buying a lubricant, as they have other uses that just lube for sexual purposes.
There you have it.
Be sure to read the other info. in both replies.

No sense being embarassed, might just as well get use to it.

I remember at some point this summer, my partner and I were visiting a friend and we decided a 3some was in order, but no lube in the house. So we all three went to the supermarket and all three got a bottle of lube. Here there were, three older guys, each with their lube to purchase, all in a row. The check out guy was really cool and didn't seem to bat an eye until after the final purchase (we waited for each other) and when he gave the last receipt to us, winked at all of us and said, "have a good evening" and smiled.

We all said together, "oh we plan to" . We and he all chuckled. Wasn't something to get embarassed about, it is a fact of life. So get out there and make the purchase and after the first time it won't be so difficult or embarassing. Most don't care and if they do, usually will give the wink and smile with a "have a good evening" tacked on.

Oh, and we did have a very good evening. :D :gogirl: (*8*) :sex: (!)

OMG - what a riot :rotflmao: ... I would have paid to see that ... they should use that in a movie :)

RE: lubes / condoms / whatever. I generally buy mine online so I do not have to worry about judgmental clerks or stares. I just have to worry about the plain brown box arriving on time to my mailbox .. LOL. But there are times when I have had to buy condoms or lube in person and for that I am lucky enough to have a WalMart nearby with self-checkout lanes! :gogirl:

with all do respect if you want to be responsible enough to have sex, whats the big deal with buying lube?

Just don't buy it as a single item purchase. Have a shopping cart full of "normal" items (groceries, etc.) and the clerk won't even notice a bottle of lube as it just blends in with the mass of items.

you can get lube online from anywhere from ebay to cheaplubes.com and save the embarrassment. and you can get everything, not just what your local store carries. If the lube is for masturbation, Stroke 29, Boybutter, ID Cream are designed for it.

if you're too embarassed to buy lube....buy something like KY massage oil....they advertise that it doubles as a personal lubricant. It's essentially the same stuff, but for all the sales clerk knows you're giving massages.

If you're too embarrassed to go into a sex shop and buy lube, you have a bigger problem than needing to whack off.

Just get over it... the people in that store work there because they have no problem with you having a sex life.
