What hand do you write with?

There was a study quoted on 60 Minutes that shows ambidextrous people (people who use both hands to write) are slightly more likely to be bisexual than other people.

It doesn't make you more likely to be gay though.

So, how many bi guys here are ambidextrous?

I am a leftie although I can do many tasks with my right hand....and yes, including that!

I am a lefty. When I was in kindergarten I broke my left arm. Not wanting to get behind, I taught myself to write right-handed. Months later (medicine was not advanced like now) the cast came off and I could not write lefty. This will not do!!! I re-taught myself to write lefty. I was born that way, and nothing can change it.

Let nature be.

I can write with both hands, but I'm quicker with my right. I was told I had to use one hand when I grew up, so I was a righty. Then one day I decided it was stupid to think that so I started using whichever hand was more convenient.

Writing with my left hand always makes me feel like I should be writing from right to left though. I still can't shake that feeling.

mowrest20,

I don't know. I didn't read the actual study to see how many people were involved.

Westwood,

I like lefties too. It seems sort of special somehow.

Ares,

You could learn a right-to-left language...

I can write manuscript with my left, especially with larger implements/spaces (like on chalkboards.) I CAN write cursive with my left, but I have to write it like a mirror reflection (right to left, leters reversed.) I've heard De Vinci did that, but I'd like to be able to write normal with both hands, just seems it would help in certain math classes where my right gets sore after a while. If the instructor is going slow enough, I actually have been known to switch hands when my right gets sore, and it's still legible (most mathematics is scrip in nature.)

...that said, I'm streight/curious/maybe bi, so who can say? I think I'm more partialy ambidexterous by choice than nature though, but I've always had an afinity to do things with either or both hands (my right tends to be somewhat more accurate and my left slightly stronger, though. But then I think I'm left and right brained, so...)

Right-hand writer here and totally incompetent with the left.

Oddly enough, they reckon 10% of the world's population is left-handed.. They also say that 10%are gay.. A coincedence?

Probably

Left, But those D...n Half desks they had in school. Gave me the steriotypical "Hook". Then this B...h 3rd grade teachermade me redo my papers, because I had wrote on the "wrong" side of the paper](*,) because of the 3 ring binder. I used spiral notebooks from that time on. Note my parents always bought me loose leaf paper. I still have this in my craw.:grrr: . Authority is still my problem, I was 5 when I started 1st grade, turned 18 I was already in College, and was 21 I was in grad school, so I wasnt stupid. Finished before age 23.:=D: Seeing things my kids have been through in school, it hasnt changed. Left handedness has been a pain since I was little. The flushers on commodes are on the wrong side. Pencil ads are upside down. Double doors in building are not always unlocked on the left side. But the door on my office is left handed, its funny watching rightys open it. They throw it open, catch it with their lft hand before they walk in..| I have some issues about these things, but i have never ranted like this before, and I have never told anyone about. I feel that society wants you to fit a nice littlepigeon hole. Make a life for yourself, pay your taxes and dont rock the boat. I cant believe I have said all this. Maybe I need a blog. BTW I do like smileys:corn:

It may rankle Dave but you have to see to the needs of the majority and the world isn't going to cater soley for a 10% minority..

I understand what you are saying though, even though I am right handed I was forced to hold a pen in a certain way even though I found it painful. I am still unable to right for any great period of time. Thank god for keyboards, lol.

Left handed--can do most other things with right hand except write or draw.

I never could sign my name with my left hand. It looks odd, and it'd never pass as my signature. The first and last letters look messed up. BUT, this thread got me thinking.

Just for kicks, I signed my name with my left hand from right to left. Then, I held it up to a mirror and it looks exactly like my normal signature in the mirror!

So, I tried signing my name backwards (mirrored) with my right hand. It looks exactly like my 'weird' left signature in a mirror.

Hmm...

I broke my right arm twice back in grade school and was sort of forced to write (poorly) with my left hand. However once the cast was off I used my right hand again and never used my left hand to write. I still can a little...Does that mean breaking my arm caused me to like boys and girls? CRAZINESS

I write with my right hand but I use the mouse with my left. It drives people nuts who try to use my computer 'cause the mouse buttons are switched.

..

I have what they call mixed dominance. I write with my right, but I bat and golf lefty. But I can't throw with my left.

Apparently mixed dominance is associated with ADD. It's funny how so many things are connected in the brain.

I'm right handed, but I have a thing for left handed guys...not all lefties though, only the hot ones. There must be some psychology behind this preference.

I so know what you're talking about. There's this guy I know and he's totally hot, and he writes with his LEFT hand, hehe.
