dark matter is dissassociated quarks. would that account for the extra mass?

this has been bugging me for a day now

gravity cannot be a variable

If you follow string theory or bubble theory, gravity is leaking from another bubble.

well....aren't we smart? i suddenly feel like beating you up and taking your lunch money.

Groping in the dark?

Astronomers have three leading explanations for dark energy. The first is the cosmological constant, proposed (and later recanted) by Einstein. In this view, dark energy is an intrinsic, uniform property of space.

The second idea, called quintessence, involves an unidentified energy field of varying strength that fills space like a fog.

The third alternative? Dark engergy is an illusion. Instead, the effects we see result from a breakdown in Einstein's theory of gravity over the largest distance scales.

"It took us 10 years to realize the universe is accelerating, and it will take at least as long to figure out what's behind it." - Saul Perlmutter

yes yes, I know

the second theory is what interests me

what if the force is not gravity

what if the force is subatomic particulate atraction? that would mean that matter is in the void, but in a form not observable by our technology.

could that explain why the outer regions of a galaxy spin faster than the inner regions, could it not?

whatve you been smoking?;)

lol

why does everyone ask me that when i ask questions about dark matter?

96 percent of the universe missing really gets on my nerves

Oh man... Nothing turns me on faster than fellas talking all smart!

[swoon]

gravity is variable depending on mass and density.

but in the outer regions of the galaxy that does not really apply

the outer regions of a galaxy spin faster even though there is ledd mass

so the laws of gravity that should be constant are not there.

and it is making me crazy thinking about it

because.....lol

earth is on the edge of a galaxy :(

The perspective on a theme that encourages our view of a thought that energy is its own reality in being itself, is perhaps best understood within the thought that thinking en mass can illuminate all that spacious thought is inclined to deny the thinking human being.

That having been said I rather suspect that "dark energy" owes its reality to thoughtful thoughts, rather than in any thought that a space in space is transparent enough to justify the words on this thread being more than empty space. :D

I was taught at school that space is by no means a total vacuum and that there is a lot of hydrogen out there which is the fuel for the fusion reaction in stars. Now it doesn't require much hydrogen fusion to produce a great ammount of energy but there is an awful lot of space. Even if there was only 1 atom per square meter in space there are an awful lot of square meters in space.

Could it be that scientists are so specialised now that they are blinkered to this fact and are groping for a solution that is already there.

Did you know that American scientists spent a fortune to develop a ballpoint pen that would write in zero gravity for the space program while the Russians gave their cosmanaughts pencils?

As dark matter is what the Daleks have been hiding in for all these years, you would be best off not giving this another moments thought. It can only lead to trouble.
