They're generally transsexuals that have begun the process of transitioning (taking hormones, breast implants, etc) but they still have their equipment.

Personally, I don't think transvestites or f2m transsexuals count as 'shemales'.

And they're not that hard to find, but most of them are into guys... good luck
 
Biravatch is right, they're generally male - female transexuals who are part way through the process. Some of them, though, were simply born as a mixture due to hormone imbalances or whatever. Anyway, to my mind the defining features of a shemale are:

1) a cock
2) breasts

and really 3) feminine facial features.

Some of them (the ones I call lucky fucking bastards) have vaginas as well, and I think it's every straight-curious guy's secret dream to find one of those who would pass for an attractive woman if it weren't for the penis.

Transvestites definitely don't count, and unless they have a convincing package, I wouldn't count f -> m transsexuals either
 
Yep... M2F in the process of transitioning... the package size will vary depending on length of time/dosage of hormones... some of them are amazing as you couldn't tell them from a real girl easily... I'l say too, based on pictures I've seen, the breast jobs vary from very good, i.e. hard to tell it was implants, to very noticable, where it looks as if they were glued on....

Probably not Trish... Most are truly transitioning M2F transexuals who prefer to become fully feminine and get SRS surgury with no desire to shoot porn... for many of these people, the photo shoots are a means to get the funds necessary to complete their goal.... there are some who find the act of passing as a female a turn on with no desire to lose the source of their orgasmic pleasure.... these people will never complete the operation, and may do porn, but not as a man, or a full woman... they're more like drag queens, and the problem is that you simply cannot catagorize shemales.....
