Well,bw92116,you pretty much cover it all ;)

okay mine would be,

all about eve
the apartment
annie hall
apocalypse now
all quiet on the western front
how green was my valley
the last picture show
all about my mother
american beauty
schindler's list

That's all i can think of at the moment :gogirl:

I would have to add Strangers on A Train to the list, as well as V for Vendetta.

I think that Touch of Evil is far superior to Citizen Cane, but that opinion seems to be in the minority.

how long does a movie have to be out for it to make one of these lists the newest film on the your list is 1994

for me its movies like
The green mile
the matrix
silence of the lambs
the sixth sense
patch adams
v for vendetta

You have to give eternal sunshine another shot. The whole story is told backwards as they erase his memory backwards. So their relationship unravels as they travel back into their memories. A good clue to tell where in the timeline you're at is Clementine's hair color:

Green hair is when they first meet and fall in love
Red hair is when they are in the middle of the relationship
Orange hair is when they start to fall apart
Blue hair is after she gets her memory erased and also in present time (their second meeting after both their memories were erased, which is the beginning of the movie.)

Still it's a very difficult movie where you have to relate personally to comprehend.

and as to my own favorite movies, I can't say I've seen all those movies, but here are those I've seen so far.

American Beauty
Dancer in the Dark
The Hours
Thelma and Louise
Boys don't cry
Requiem for a Dream
Amelie
Spirited Away
Moulin Rouge
Dangerous Liaisons

Crossroads, definately
