If it's not too much can you post your experience with coming out?
I like hearing other people's experiences with coming out and it is also nice knowing what to expect based on other peoples experiences.

Hopefully I will be posting in this thread by next year...
 
Some kid in high school turned around and asked if I'd ever kissed a girl. I said, "No." Then he asked if I was gay, and I said, "Yes." Then he freaked out and started yelling, "Dude, he just said he's gay!" like it was the craziest thing he'd ever heard. The next day, everyone in school knew I was gay.

I never did come out to my family. A couple years ago, I started seeing someone, and I had him over the house all the time. My parents pretty much figured it out, but we don't talk about it. Even though I know they wouldn't care and they already know, it would be embarrassing to bring it up because we're not an emotional family.

when i came out to my parents and my friends i was drunk both times....what does that say about me? :confused::(
 
I never came out to anyone, save to a very good friend, who though an bright dude in his own right, being very close to me, came to ask me, I was gay???

He had known me for 10 years by that time and had met both of my BFs as one relationship ended and the next one started. I have never had a GF at that time and he knew that, too.

All the other guys had the smarts about them to figure it all out for themselves.

I always go by the dictum that actions speak much louder than words.

I have a really wimpy story. I was on vacation with a friend and I wanted to tell her but I couldn't figure out how. I didn't want to just blurt out "I'm gay" so I told about a dream I'd had the previous night in which someone asked me if I was gay and after that my friend asked me if I was gay. I was such a relief to just say yes.

That coming out can be scary and difficult?

...I did that a few times in college and later. Not the best way to do things. But, in some ways, effective.
