My favorite is flashdance.

The actors are good. The story is simple but effective. The choreography are awesome. My favorite kind of dance is jazz and lyrical.

For those who don t know.In flashdance it was not the lead actress who was dancing. It was 3 dancers. At the end of the movie in the audition.Theres a gymnast,a breakdancer and a dancer. When you see the jump it s a woman gymnast. When you see the breakdance it s a man with a woman wig. When you see the woman dancing it s a french dancer. In all that scene theres 3 dancers in it and the french dancer do most of the dance. It s a mix of ballet and jazz.

Staying alive is not a good movie but john travolta was kick ass in that movie. He was a very good dancer. You feel the emotion when he dance. For those who never saw staying alive. If you like dance movies you should watch staying alive only to see john travolta dancing. He is awesome in that movie.

Flashdance is cult.

Im going to go with Save the last dance / step up / bring it on ( even though its cheerleading )

My favourite is Dance with Me - Vanessa Wiliams and Chayanne. If you like latin music, the soundtrack is pretty awesome.

Since i have been taking dance since I was 3, I would have to go with Center Stage. Even though I didn't go to a prestigous dance school year round, I attended some summer classes at various dance academies. That movie really nailed it on the head. I always tell people that if they want to know what my life was like in high school, just watch Center Stage & Bring It On (another movie that got it just right). :gogirl:

seriously, you should check out 'a special gift'..

(!) Guess that I am an "old school" fan of these rather "classic dance movies":

"Flashdance" - was the first that came to mind.:gogirl:

"Dirty Dancing" - was really awesome at the time it came out - Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Grey were great! :gogirl:

"All That Jazz" - was one that stays in my memory.:=D:

And then there is the quintessential dance movie of all time, I guess:
"Footloose" - some might think it to be "cheesy" ... but it was the "feel good" movie of the day! I still love it! (!) :=D:
