Brokeback Mountain easily the best ever - that resonates so well

LVC I just could not get into - Torch Song Trilogy I liked a lot because it had such emotional honesty - Longtime Companion, haven't seen in years but I remember liking that a lot - Jeffrey for some reason I liked, it was light and frothy but still done -

A movie I would include although it is not a "gay" movie per se is Y Tu Mama Tambien - one can debate what that movie was really saying (because it has so many meanings, that is a good thing) but at least part of it is these two guys search for what they want and finally find it - each other - and then can't deal with it, can't accept the answer -

Brokeback takes that a different angle, what opportunities we have and what we pass by when we should take what is our reality -

and I will toss in Mysterous Skin just because it made me think a lot

I just recently watched, "Come Undone," a French film which, I thought was great!

I believe the BEST Gay movie out there is "Beautiful Thing" ..... This coming of age story has innonence , love, abuse and more .... I just loved the ending !!! I always wished they had made a follow up or sequal.

"I Think I Do"
"Beautiful Thing"
"Brokeback Mountain"
"The Object of My Affection"

At the moment, Shortbus, but I'm not really sure that qualifies as a 'gay movie' Then again, it probably does.

Of all time probably Sommersturm. Mostly because of the soundtrack and how natural it feels at times (despite some of the camp).

I also like Camp, Latter Days and The Conrad Boys.

i havent seen too many, but i was quite fond of A Touch of Pink. i think its a pretty great movie all around, definitely tugs the heart strings, especially for anyone who has felt the need to hide their true self for fear of its repercussions.

Sorry but Birdcage did it for me. B M was so freakin drab and sad. I have known quite a few gay men and while aspects of their lives were sad overall they were very full of life, flamboyance, success, strength. I don't know BM seems so repressive to me.

Maurice for me then The Ritz. Both of them pretty old now

I've only seen one, which was Eating out. That was actually very funny!

And Ryan Carnes? Wowza!!

Beautiful Thing: Because the characters do not die and they wind up together.
Parting Glances:Two Words STEVE BUSCEMI
Big Eden: I'm not articulate enough to come up with the reason I liked I just did..

My all-time favorite gay-themed movie has to be "Boys In The Band". This is the most quotable film since "All About Eve". To me, nothing else even comes close.
