So I've known this older man for almost 4 months and we have went out quite a few times. I like him very much and he knows it but we remained in the 'just friends' stage (I guess he has no romantic interest in me, he does think I'm cute but...). I enjoy his company alot and I want him to know it. I also want him to know that I love him even if we remain 'just friends'.

Should I get him a flower? Do older guys like receiving flowers? I am afraid that he thinks that flowers are for the hopelessly romantic. What other suggestions do you have? If you think I should get him a flower, which do you think should I get him? Thanks!(*8*)

Hmm.. I'm not "old".. So I don't know how far my opinion will go..

But I've always preferred letters over flowers. Or something else along those lines that truly show how you feel. I find them to be way more personal.

.. if youre trying to let him know that you love him, forget the flower. spell it out for him!

good luck :D

Get him a cactus, because they rarely die.

We got one for my mom on mother's day and she loved it. It's still alive 4 years later.

Some men do like flowers.

The others don't.

Get him something more reflective of his personality.

Like in: if he is a bit of a bookworm, get him that book which has rocked your world recently; or that piece of music or that tie...whatever.

Presents are most effective, if they show that you know the person you are giving them to...

Since you enjoy his company, why not get him something that the two of you can enjoy together - bottle of wine, movie tickets, tickets to a play, etc.? And if nothing else, sure, flowers are great.

I think flowers from a younger guy is absolutely adorable. If I loved my odler man, I'd do it...maybe a single daisy or something cute.

Thanks guys!

I love music, he listens to classical, i am more of a rock/metal person. He reads, but I run at the sight of books. He likes wine, and knows wine better than me and have rather expensive wine at home, so I rather not buy him wine.

But thanks to you guys, I'll probably write a card to him and include a daisy (I think daisies are cute too) since I social phobic and I look like an airhead trying to talk. I sound better with a pen. :P

Once again. Thanks! :)

I also think that the suggestion to get him something that you can use together, like a movie or something, is a good idea. :)

I am thinking of a DVD, some old MGM movies? Anyone knows of good MGM movies? I know that he likes them. :)

I don't know, I do like him alot but at the same time, I don't want to overstep any lines.

But DVD and a card is right up the alley! :)
