Would it mark this turning point--some might dare to call it a revolutionary one--where years later someone will pen an article bearing he title "How the *insert place here* shooting forever changed people's perception of the mass shooter" (or something like that). Said article going on to state that that was the day certain people's (you know who they are; talking about the outside world, btw, not this forum) idea that only straight white people are guilty of mass shootings began to fade as they realized that literally anyone, regardless of their skin color, sexual orientation, country of origin, etc. possesses the ability to pick up a gun that's readily available and shoot at a crowd of people for no apparent reason.
Or, as usual, will they ignore it, and continue yapping on about how only the evil, selfish straight white people commit mass shootings, while all the good, selfless brown people, gays, and other minorities would never, ever, (ever) commit such a horrifying act?
Honestly, judging from past events, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the latter.
Hell, just a few weeks ago someone who isn't white committed a mass shooting in Brooklyn, and not a peep was heard. Well, that's not entirely true. There was this one gentleman who was in deep denial, posting a comment on Inst saying something along the lines of, "He's not guilty, we don't do this, only white people do." Apparently, he's one of those certain people who think that, just because your skin color isn't white, it automatically means you don't posses the ability to yadayada, you know the rest, it's written right there. I can only assume that someone in the gay community will react the same way when the day comes when one of our own commits the next mass shooting, saying that only straight guys commit mass shootings.
Oh, wait, a gay man already has committed a mass shooting. The first one (or at least one of the first) in US history, no less. But of course you didn't know that. (His name was Howard Unruh, in case you were curious.)
